Multiple controller problems (same as when using Windows):
Controller input is frequently non-responsive when using the default Steam Input bindings. Changing any of the binds seems to guarantee this bug will occur.
It can be fixed by switching to the default "Gamepad" template. However this causes a second problem where the game will detect multiple separate controllers, even if only one is connected, so that pressing the Start button adds an extra human-controlled player, instead of pausing the game.
To fix the latter problem, you should go to the in-game options immediately after launching the game, and change Player 2's controller from gamepad to keyboard. This should cause the Start button to behave as it should while playing.
Gamepad controls/prompts are hidden in a game controller settings.
Crackling happened on default setup every couple of minutes. Switching to experimental seems to fix this.
Faulty recommended layout. Had to resort to a community one for buttons to register. Xbox prompts/input are available after switching in the in-game control options.
Controller layout has to be switched to get input to work. Currently occasional audio crackle without tinkering (using proton experimental fixes this).

Even the ending videos play as they should without crashes, meaning it's now possible to finish the game and unlock the last secret charater + Hard mode. Excelsior!

UnknownUnknownGame runs perfectly out of the box, but there are glitched pixels at the top left of the screen in the pause menu, otherwise everything else is okay (aside from the game being broken compared to the original version). I chose Silver but this game is basically Platinum.
