Works OOTB
Installed it, ran it, worked just fine. It's locked to 30fps AFAIK

Rare occasions of foliage and other minor objects flickering in and out
Oh boy are the controller mappings bad out of the box. I messed around with Steam Input for a while and uploaded my layout, called "HTV - Improved in-game controls". A one-time, small change in the game settings is needed after applying it and I've put that in the layout description. Buttons are shown on screen as numbers rather than ABXY etc but old game is old.
Only one crash during my five hour playthrough, in the map screen.
Not tested any modes except story mode

Game locked to 30 FPS (not to the fault of Linux,) still a decent time for a licensed game
Requires enabling controller support; can't change menu key bindings (B on an Xbox controller is the select option button.)
Not supported

Funciona perfecto
El único problema sería que los controles por defecto no son muy buenos en estándares modernos, pero ocurre en Windows también y se pueden cambiar en el menú.
Runs perfectly out of the box

Unfortunately Problems, NVIDIA may be to blame
I unfortunately have been having problems getting this game to work on my Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Gen7. Given that this is one of my childhood games, I am going to be working endlessly until I get it running on my system. I believe the problem I'm having is becuase of my NVIDIA GPU. I can install the game just fine, but when I launch it, I get the dreaded error "Unsupported Video Configuration" If I find a fix, I will be sure to include it in an updated post. I have tried every proton and proton-ge verison, and I'm going to keep trying.
Run perfectly without even change to Proton-GE. On deck looks amazing 👌
Crashed once throughout my 6 hours of playing.
Gameplay is flawless, I played this on my old(ish) laptop running Arch Linux at 1080p.
Used the laptop keyboard and an xbox one controller with xow. no issues.
I 100% the game over a trip, the game ran perfectly. The only issue with was the video player in the extra sections, they wouldn't play and just kick you out to the video selection menu.

Flawless out of the box. Have been using Proton/Wine to play this game for years and have never had an issue.
Game does not support windowed mode at all (applies to Windows as well), so I use gamescope to force the game to run in a window.
Game defaults to fullscreen at a low resolution, so you may have to navigate the menus semi-blind to set your resolution initially.

6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Kinda fixed a resolution bug by setting windows version to XP with protontricks.
Cars -> Select the default wineprefix -> Change Setting -> winxp
Still doesnt save the right resolution, but at least it's playable now
before protontricks: fullscreen didn't propely, showing just the top-left portion of the window
after protontricks: resolution get reset every time, can't save it

Game appears to run - Resolution screwed up
The game appears to run fine, but the resolution is screwed up and I can't seem to navigate to find a menu to change the resolution.
Anyone know if there's a config file somewhere I can edit or maybe the correct key combination to enter the resolution menu (right 4 times, press enter.... something like that?)
Works perfectly, no need to configure anything. The game starts with wrong resolution set, but I think it's a problem with most modern OS.

Game runs flawlessly. While I've played very little using Proton, I played the game extensively using vanilla Wine and there were no flaws there either. There should be no reason for the game to perform any differently.

No issues detected

Tested the story, works without any problems. At startup resolution wasn't correct so game was just displayed half. Changed resolution in settings fixed. Runs as smooth as can be. No lag, nothing
