The bulk of text and UI are so tiny, even with magnification, that this cannot honestly be claimed to be playable in handheld mode.
30 FPS cap in Deck settings
Pretty much everything except the main menu

Text is tiny, at times unreadable
Game runs great of the box. I advise capping at 30fps considering its slow nature if you wand a perfectly stable reading. The most popular community layouts do work well to adapt the decks' controller scheme, or any controller for that matter, to the game. However, text is absolutely tiny, making the game nearly unplayable unless you're ready to spend your time using the magnifier.

Set scaling to FSR. Not strictly necessary, I just wanted the fan to be quieter.
Text is small, and can be VERY small. It'd be nice to have an option to fix that
Random but rare crackling

The text is often so small that it is unreadable (not enough pixels to display the letters in full)

Limit refresh rate to 40. Lower TDP to 10
Text a bit small, but still readable
Frostpunk from Epic Games Store, installed with Heroic Games Launcher. Used Wine-GE-Latest and it runs well. Text is a bit small, but still readable. Highly recommend tinkering with the controls yourself because the game is by default much better played with keyboard and mouse.

Limitted FPS to 30FPS
FPS drops when city is fully buit. Game does not hit 60fps.
I wasn't expecting this game to work as well as it does. The default control scheme takes a little getting used to but it covers everything that you really need it to. No performance issues to speak of.
Screen set to 40hz, low settings, TDP at 6W, SMT disabled. GPU at 600Mhz minimum with Powertools.
Text is too small, it's readable if you get close to the screen or zoom in with the steam button + L1.
It works just fine with the recommended settings, but lowering the graphics and refresh rate helps with the battery usage. Setting the TDP to 5-6W limits the GPU frequency, but you can override that with Powertools, and set it around 600Mhz minimum, which makes it work perfectly. You get about 3 hours of battery this way.
Turned down the graphics settings
Tiny text can be migraine-inducing
