Game/visual novel runs fine, although black bars are present.
Best played in windowed mode, fullscreen extends the black bars/shrinks the game.
There is a video in the start and in the end of the VN and for some reason the Steam Official Proton 8.0-3 is not able to play it. To solve it use Proton-GE instead. Other than that the game is fully playable.
I personally used a Spanish patch that required to install a .ttf font to work. So I just installed the font normally and the game detected it.
Good Visual Novel. I played with Proton Glorious Eggroll version, and faced none of the issues mentioned. All good.
Windowing is fine, but resizing is a bit finicky as the main 'display area' of the game shifts about. Not a major issue.

To avoid crash use Proton Experimental instead of Proton GE
Text speed is tied to framerate.
Some fonts are missing characters, MerriweatherMG is complete.
You will miss the two cutscene videos if you use Valve's provided Proton. ProtonGE fixes that.
Haven't played very far in, but no issues from what I have played. Game does ask about an install path upon launch, followed defaults and had no issue.

In the 18+ version (PLUS + MOSAIC), nominally a DLC, font rendering is broken due to differences in WINE vs Windows behaviour.
