The game is playable. The performance is a little below what I had on Windows, but it's acceptable, given the age of the hardware.
At least 25fps inside the station and well above that outside. Graphics set to low or auto. The game performs better on the work laptop, but (obviously) with newer hardware.
With the exception of the resolution issue I mentioned (at least on my laptop) everything works perfectly.
Initially it sets the graphics to 1920x1080 even though its resolution is lower than that (my laptop is 1366x768). When setting to 1280x720 and full screen (because it doesn't have my laptop's native resolution) the image was distorted. I then applied 1360x768, full screen and Vsync, all working correctly.
Using graphics on auto and Vsync, you can play smoothly, above 50 or 60fps in most areas (on a Geforce MX110). In open space, fixed 60fps (with Vsync).
Despite being currently marked as unsupported, I had no issues completing the game on Deck
Reduced framelimit to 40 FPS via Steam Deck activities menue
The thrusters volume seems occasionally too loud
In the main hub the framerate dips to less than 30 FPS, normally inside space stations it is between 40 and 60 FPS, outside stations 60 FPS. This is not a fast paced game, so the experience is mostly pretty smooth and the game totally playable.

Game works out of the box
Still did not run.
As far as I understand, it should be playable without VR, so I tried without as I have none.
Появляется заставка и игра вылетает.
Пробовал все доступные версии Proton и Proton GE с 6 по 7-10

Apart from the missing cutscenes/movies, flawless experience. Played in VR (Valve Index).
It does not play some movies (a test pattern appears instead). Seems to be related to mfplat/wmvcore, which means at some time proton will be able to do it (it's in heavy development).
Even the haptic controls work perfectly. Although the control mappings are crap, the game supports their use very well.
Did not start

When it works, it works.
Crashed first launch on logo like other reports but then worked fine
Latest proton GE used.
Works with the just release Proton 6.3-1
Game starts but stops on black screen with white frame.
Game launches, dies on black window over white background

First launch resulted in a black screen. Second launch displayed a number of technology and engine logos, then ended in a white screen with black window where it plays audio of what I believe is Three One Zero's developer intro. If user launches with the PROTON_USE_WINED3D, the screen is instead all white, but appears to get stuck on the same intro.
I've attempted to launch it with 4.11-3, 4.2.9 and 3.16.9 and with FSYNC, ESYNC PROTON_USE_WINED3D and Large Address Aware with no change.

Game loaded initial logo then hard crashed and locked up entire computer, requiring a full restart to resolve.

Ran and showed the logos. Ends up with black window with white border. Sound can be heard. I tried with -force-d3d9 to no avail.

launches into a blank screen

HTC Vive. White screen
