Works like a charm.

Runs well and only requires a quick launch option to run flawlessly
Enter launch options -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 to avoid crash upon minimising the game, this makes the game run in essentially borderless fullscreen.

Works great, just avoid minimising the game
Alt-tabbing or hitting the "Windows key" instantly crashes the game without any error messages.

-win
i've installed the vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2019 to make the game not dsynced in lan.
Once you install the vcrun drivers trough protontricks you won't have any issues with the lan or multiplayer.
Very enjoyable experience, only having to do a quick fix.

Works well if you don't use Alt+Tab
switching focus to another window crashes the game

Game will crash when switch to another application
DO NOT switch to another application

Works fine with native client, potential flatpak issue
Was able to isolate the issue to the Flatpak version of the Steam client being unable to find the installation path of the base game. The native Steam clients for Debian and Fedora are able to play the game without issue on both Proton and Proton-GE.The issue may be resolved for Flatpak versions of Steam in the future but at least at this time, Kane's Wrath has issues working with Flatpak.

Unable to find base game installation
Prior to EA releasing the C&C Ultimate Collection on Steam, this game ran with no issues. Post launch, Kane's Wrath cannot find the base game installed stating: "You must have Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars installed to play Command and Conquer 3:Kane's Wrath."
The base game is installed and runs fine. No issues with installing and running the game in Windows either. The game installs as normal but when attempting to play, the error message pops up.
This error occurs with latest Proton-GE, Proton Experimental and version 8.0-5.
Works out of the box

A recommendation by a previous user to fix missing textures: use protontricks to install d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_47 and d3d9
In my case I had to use protontricks to fix missing textures, which makes it a touch more complicated. But afterwards it works great!
Works perfectly out-of-the-box on high settings
Runs perfect on Manjaro
use protontricks to install d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_47 and d3d9 in the 24810/pfx directory
units textures are missing
without tinkering, most textures on units will not be loaded. This makes almost all units invisible and basically makes games unplayable. follow the procedure down below to fix the problem:
- install protontricks
- open terminal and run the command down below
protontricks --no-bwrap 24810 --gui
- choose Select the default wineprefix > install a Windows DLL or component, then choose the following packages to install: d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_47 and d3dx9.
If you successfully install the packages above you should be able to see all textures loading properly in games now
The game crashes when leaving the fullscreen window.
The game crashes when switching to 1080p resolution in its graphics settings on first startup, and then works fine when switching on second startup. Note that this is often true for me on Windows as well, so it was expected. Game ran perfectly in a skirmish.
Multiplayer Desync Fix for newer Proton Versions: (works cross platform)
Delete old 24810 pfx folder /steamapps/compatdata/. Set Proton to version 7.0-4 In steam and Launch game to create a new fresh 24810 folder. Exit game.
run protontricks --no-bwrap 24810 --gui
(--no-bwrap used incase winecfg does not load)
First enable virtual Desktop Mode and set desired resolution.
Next Select Install Windows DLL or component.
Install the following vcruntimes manually approving each setup window that pop ups. vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2019
Installer will automatically updates DLL overrides to native for the installed libraries
Game should now run Online/Lan games withou desyncs.
You can get the revora online play enabler from cnc-online.net and go to their Discord to get the Linux online play installer. I wrote an entire guide there and how to.
Have fun!
Fixed by enabling Virtual Desktop mode via Protontricks --> Winecfg.
Multiplayer Desync. Fixed by installing vcruntime components 2005 to 2019.
Singple Player works 100% and performance is great. Some additional work needed for Online Play as the original servers have been shut down. Go to cnc-online to see how or visit their discord channel and view my how to guides. Desync fix in my report.
Used Protontricks to enable virtual desktop using winecfg and than to install vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2019.
Alt-Tabbing crashes game of no virtual desktop is set. Use protontricks and then winecfg to enable virtual desktop mode.
Online or LAN Multiplayer Desyncs. Was resolved by Enabling Virtual Desktop and installing the follwing vcruntimes and going through the setup prompts:
Via terminal run: protontricks --no-bwrap 24810 --gui
Select default prefix and "Install a Windows DLL or component". Select the following packages and ron though each installer prompt to complete setups:
vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2019
Do not use command line to perform install as silently fails. Make sure to enable virtual desktop first via Winecfg and then proceed with the vcruntime installs.
As long as you enable Virtual Desktop and install the vcruntime files via protontricks your game will work flawlessly.
To enable online Matcmaking go to cnc-online.net. Register for a Revora account and head over to their discord (https://discord.com/invite/54DZ4UQwGV) to get the Linux Compatible Kanes Wrath online enabler. Ask for it from Cervanthes or one of the DM's.
Also recommend the latest 1.02+ R19 mappacks from Masterleaf available here: tinyurl.com/getr19 as this will allow you to play most matches and not experience the usual game crashing bugs.
Install this using protontricks and you will then be able to enjoy online matchmaking.
Game crashes after alt tabbing.
Was unable to play the game for more than a few minutes before an out of sync issue occurs which adruptly stops the game when using Proton-GE. Also tried Proton 5.13-6 but had the same issue, only Proton 3.7-8 allowed a full match to be played on multiplayer
-win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
Only caveat is to add launch options so game does not crash when alt-tabbing

Previously reported issues seem to have been resolved with more recent proton versions.
Ran Flawless

Crashes upon entering game play.
There is a quick error upon launch, but it vanishes so I fast I haven't been able to make out what it says. The game window doesn't automatically appear and I have to navigate to select it. When I attempt to do a skirmish, everything is fine until the skirmish finishes loading, at which point the game crashes.
I can launch the game if I use "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" but units don't render in game play, so the game effectively is unplayable.
Game is 30fps locked due to it's engine and it runs 30fps solid, so performance is fine, also no issues with stability to report
To get rid of the bug that prevents you from alt-tabing, just use this to run winecfg, and set a desktop size:
protontricks 24810 --gui

Works perfectly fine with Proton out of the box.

Works
Works out of the box using Proton 5.0-9
It's pretty much identical to the Tiberium Wars, in terms of performance and stability, but with new stuff.

Runs out of the box (OOTB). No special settings or command line entries needed. Download and run.
Single Player and Skirmish (vs AI) was only tested.
Multiplayer was not tested.

add PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% in launch options

sometime gamereplays doesnt work ( happens in windows too )

Runs perfectly out of the box. And the custom "Proton-4.21-GE-2" fixed the known anti-aliasing issues for me.
4.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Otherwise perfect.
Anti-aliasing results in a black screen
works great no issues
Once leaving fullscreen (such as with Alt-Tab), re-entering will prevent you from interacting with the game.

No issues found. Played skirmish several hours.

works flawlessly, no tweaks needed, 1080p max settings

Had to set Anti-Aliasing to Level 4. Level 5 would cause screen tears, distortion at the edges of screen and a weird cursor offset when ordering units around (did not apply to buildings for some reason). All other settings may be maxed or set elsewise without issue.
