Crashes on session loading
After changing around proton versions, i where able to launch it to the main menu. I cannot load into a session, it crashes on the track loading screen.
Everything works fine until you load the circuit.

Crashing During Loading
Game menus work; able to configure steering wheel. Loading into a race causes a crash on the loading screen.

As of October 2024 the game will crash half way through loading a circuit when loading a race weekend.

Still broken
As of the September update I'm still stuck with the 48% loading bug when going into a race. Screen goes completely black with the PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1
option.

Progress has been made, but not playable yet.
With Proton Experimental, you can now get past the splashscreen now, but attempting to load into any racetrack will crash the game at around 50% loading. You can change settings, and browse all the cars and stuff in the main menus, but can't really race.
Dies after splash screen.

Splash Screen shows but thats it
There seems to be no current way of playing this game on Linux
Used various versions of Proton and Proton-GE. Only splash screen is visible then game exits.

The menu works fine but low framerate and the game crash while loading a track.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

The screen goes black and returns to the desktop.
I have tried Proton 8.0-5, 9.0 Beta, Experimental and GE-8.25 with the same result.
managed to launch via wine after pointing to prefix
I installed the windows steam runtime in the prefix and then run this: wine ../SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/2399420/pfx/drive_c/Program\ Files\ (x86)/Steam/steam.exe
using wine 9.2 had to point to the right prefix: export WINEPREFIX=../SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/2399420/pfx
Had to disable steam inputs
Managed to get the menus working, selected a car and track, and it started to load a track, but got to about 50% and then crashed.

Got the game running with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 and Proton 9.0 Beta. Performance is terrible and you can't get on track.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
It's another step in the direction to get it working, but it needs to work with dxvk or d3d11 or else the performance will always be terrible

Black screens for a few seconds then goes back to the desktop
On launch, the game shows Studio 397's logo then appears to be launching into something but then gives up and crashes

Games downloads and the Studi 397 Logo ist shortly shown, then the game goes to a full blackscreen and crashes after a few seconds.
PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_USE_DXVK=1 %command%
Tried to change game config files and copy and rename some DLLs, installed additional dlls, but there is always the error 'ACCESS_VIOLATION_EXCEPTION' and i have no idea how to fix that. I have tried everything.
The only Error in the proton log, which is even marked as a warning and not an error, is the ACCESS VIOLATION EXCEPTION. I thought this could be due to accessing dll files which have a different uppercase/lowercase writing in the program than in the prefix so i tried to fix that. Tried a lot of different proton versions.
Been trying to fix this for 12 hours, but no luck yet.

Game in Early Access, very unstable in Windows, not working on Linux
I have tried to start it with Proton 8.0-5, Proton Experimental and GE-Proton8-27 and the game will launch, it will show the company's logo, then a black window will pop up but it won't render anything and then it will crash. Same behaviour in all three versions.
The Game is in Early Access, mixed reviews on Steam, a lot of negative reviews for it being very unstable on Windows and crashing all the time. I'm sure as it becomes more stable, it will start to work on Linux.
Le Mans Ultimate uses the rFactor 2 game engine, and rFactor 2 works on Linux, so I'm confident it will eventually work. I just hope they don't add DRM.

Game shows a brief "Studio 397" splash screen before the game opens, only yielding a black screen for a few seconds before crashing.
PROTON_LOG=1 mangohud %command%

Not working on SteamDeck yet.
