Everything works like on Windows, no problems here
works just as well as the native version - no bugs outside the ones created by dovetail. perfect performance

Gameplay is fine, but expect moderate performance/graphics issues
Some minor unexpected lighting issues and reduced quality
Expect major issues when using a custom keyboard layout; you may have to manually change every keybind

Runs at ~60fps until you leave a station, then it drops at 1-3fps or stalls
I'm playing on gnome wayland and it works absolutly fine.
Works great without any tinkering.
Works out of the box

On kde almost no issues, on Hyprland under 30fps weird stuttering and duplicate frames (seems to be an issue with nvidia drivers with Xwayland Applications)
except for a bit of graphical glitching when under 30fps, its very playable. Thats due to me being on Hyprland and the game running in xWayland tho and Nvidia drivers being Nvidia drivers....
won't start: TS2Prototype CreateProcess() returned c1

Had to decrease Texture streaming pool due to my limited 4GB Vram. Without this option i found the game would start of running fine but gradualy reduce the fps to 2-3fps. I never had this problem in windows so i suspect it has something to do with the way dxvk uses more VRAM than native.
The fix is fairly easy, if you have 4GB Vram and are struggling with this add
r.Streaming.PoolSize=400
to C:\Users<UserName>\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini.
All other settings ingame are set to medium and I get on average 55fps - 35fps.
Some slight problems with vram. these were easily fixed
Game runs well stutters are present but are to do with the game since i also had these when i breifly tried it on windows

If you face the same mouse issue as I, the game is unplayable unless you feel like memorizing tens of keybindings right off the bat.
Cannot use mouse to move controls in cockpit, as if mouse movement is not registered while left mouse button is held. Managed once to get it working somehow by alt-tabbing and changing to/from fullscreen, but have had no luck since then. Tried different Proton versions (7, Experimental, GE-7) and desktop environments (XFCE, MATE, KDE), but same issue with all.
The game runs fine otherwise.
At the some case, fps is down under 30 e.g.15
No action is required. Just install it, launch it, and you can play normally. It also supports joysticks and can do as described on the buttons.
don't list in 7.0-5, so I chosen 7.0-3. Please switch to 7.0-5.
Proton Experimental showed 'A D3D11-compatible GPU ( Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) is required to run the engine.' and could not start. So Proton should be change to 7.0-5. After that I was able to play without any problems. Proton's list only showed up to 7.0-3 at the time of registration, so I couldn't select it. protonDB says custom by automatically, but 7.0-5 is in the Steam's Proton list.
Frequent stuttering and gamefreezes. Freezes are lasting around 1,5 Seconds each time.
Alles funktioniert OOB
Spikes sometimes
spike sometimes in my case but overall is good
Initial resolution was wrong, after manually applying a resolution everything was fine.
Runs just fine out of the box The freezes described above only happen once
Some minor freezes while looking around and loading new scenery

The startup video and video behind the menu do not display
Was a bit laggy and much lower frame rate than in Windows
The lighting and track render proxies weren't rendering properly in dx11 mode
Need to copy steam_api64.dll to steam/steamapps/compatdata/1944790/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32/ (like with TSW2)
Menu background is not displayed correctly
Needed to use the latest proton (proton-7.0-4). The game crashed on the loading screen using proton 6.3-8. Also needed to copy steam_api64.dll to steam/steamapps/compatdata/1944790/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32 (like with TSW2)
Works out of the box
Videos aren't played properly. This doesn't impact gameplay.
When first playing a route, I noticed heavy stuttering. May be due to some pre-rendering. It isn't there anymore after playing the route once.
If you want to migrate your profile from TSW2, copy the "My Games" folder from the steamuser's documents folder to the documents folder in the new prefix.
