No tinkering needed, works perfectly out of the box.
Unsure if it's a Proton issue or a settings change to the game after the newest update, but the game was running at a lower framerate while on Linux than when I played previously on Windows. (It ran almost solidly at 144fps in Windows, but only hovered around 100fps in Linux. Completely playable, but a degradation I noticed.)

The Nvidia 570 drivers resolved the issues with launching the game.

Runs perfectly with no tweaks required
Tested only with Proton Experimental
Works just fine OOB, no issues
DXVK_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0

Works fine.
Amazing game would recomand.

Game runs very well. One of the few modern 3D games to run at max settings for me and get full 144Hz. I decided to run with raytracing on. You have to manually turn on RT shadows or reflections. Initially the shaders will have to be compiled on the spot, so any new action will have a sudden hitch for a second (muzzleflash, new enemy spawn, first time hitting a barrel), but after about 5 or so minutes of you doing things even with RT on this game is optimized well. No issues. Buttery smooth.

Works out-of-the-box
Didn't try playing with ray tracing but the default launch option worked without issue

The game works perfectly - on the first launch.
I've encountered a unique problem with this game. After installing it, it boots up and plays with no issue. The next time you try to launch the game, it will crash every time without fail. So far, only reinstalling the game remedies the issue, which means I need to configure keybindings and game settings every time I want to play it (not the ideal experience for most).

Ran smoothly, no issues to report with the default "Play Echo Point Nova" option. However, playing with the raytracing option resulted in severe framerate drops; Steam reviews also mentioned this issue so it may be a game issue rather than a Linux/Proton issue.

A "typical" player would enjoy perhaps 5 hours of this game on Steam Deck, after which I believe they would need to do some tinkering.
Performance gets notably worse in big fights.
Roughly 2 hours of battery, not much but maybe enough for an first-person shooter. Too low frames per second just when things get interesting. I am sure both battery and frames per second can be improved a lot with some tinkering, but the experience out of the box can be disappointing for such a challenging first-person shooter.

Frequent crashes lead the game to either completely reset objectives that were mid-progress or spawning you at different, nearby spawns.

Occasional frame drops
The game frequently freezes and then crashes after two minutes, manual force kill and restart is required.
The game is great, the stability leaves a lot to be desired.

The game is fully playable, but ran a bit worse than on Windows 11. However, there was nothing that would prevent me from enjoying it.
Most of the time the game ran smoothly, but sometimes frames dropped, overall it was a bit worse than on Windows 11
It crashed once

Significant framerate drops during Sandworm boss; ~200fps normally, down to ~40fps during the boss. No other bosses so far have had this. Likely also an issue in Windows.

Had to enable SteamInput for the Steam Deck controls to register
Runs at a mostly locked 60, drops to 40s when big fights happen. Switch SteamInput on if the controller doesn't register at first.
The game launched without any customizations. Great !

This game, despite playing a bit better with mouse and keyboard, is perfectly playable on Steam Deck with controller with aim assist.
Cap the FPS to 60
If the arena was intricate or there were giant explosions (generally from giant enemies), the FPS could drop a noticeable amount. I can only count the amount of times it really threw me off before I hit the credits on one hand.
It has a few performance hiccups, but nothing game-breaking whenever I played it on Deck. As it is two days after launch, it runs acceptably and will probably get even better with updates and patches.

Works well on release
Full game released recently and works just as well as the demo did.

No issues found here, game runs as smooth as butter; I did not try with raytracing, but without the game ran very well!

Runs OOTB if you have a beefy machine
About half the FPS as windows

Was able to complete the demo with zero issues; Game ran smooth the entire time.

I ran the demo for this game and it ran without issues. I didn't need to make any adjustments, it just ran out of the box.
