Works perfectly fine
Was'nt abel to see more than Loading-Screen
Tried to strart it from Epic Games via Heroic Games Launcher. Tried several Proton/Wine-Versions. Almost every of this startet the game, but stuck in the Loading-Screen.
The Leaderboards worked pretty well. Though on some moments Comet would lose connection to them. However, when it did reconnect it would upload previous stats to the Leaderboard.
Local Co-op worked flawlessly. In both Arcade and the Challenge mode.
I played the GOG version of this game using Heroic Games Launcher and the provided latest Proton. I did switch it to a GE-Proton, but saw no difference in performance. Comet worked for all the achievements and I did 100% the GOG Achievements using it.
Must log into your Epic account using the web browser every time you play and you must restart your Deck if you played a reacherged game previously after the last tinme the Deck was restarted.
I played this game installing it from my Epic games library using the Heroic Games Launcher.
To get the game started
- Remove all the launch options.
- the TARGET box should be the "/home/deck/Games/Heroic/AsteroidsRecharged/ Asteroids Recharged.exe" and the START IN should be the "/home/deck/Games/Heroic/AsteroidsRecharged/" folder
- Go to compatibility and select "Force the use of a specific Steam Play Compatibility tool" Proton Experimental worked for me.
- To get passed the log in screen DO NOT USE GOOGLE to log in. I used my Nintendo account specifically. If it says a redirect error but you hear music just hit the Steam button and select the game (very top option).
EXTRA TROUBLE SHOOTING
- If text is cut off on the sides then you can change the resolution to 720p (1280x720) but there will be black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.
- If you are stuck on a blank screen with just the URL and things at the top hit the Steam button and select the game (at the very top). You may need to hit it more than once or maybe wait a few seconds (like 5 or 6) I'm not 100% sure but how long but I thought my Deck had completely froze (technically it did). Slightly Frightening I know.
- I noticed that sometimes (Usually if you just played another Recharged game) it won't let you log in. You will just see a swirling Steam logo with the URL at the top. You will have to restart your Deck. Mildly annoying I know.
Ran native but wouldnt launch, kept telling me it couldnt find the execuitable. Simply added Proton compatibility and it ran first time withut any issues.
Installed Windows version from Epic Games with Heroic Games Launcher. Using default Proton 8, game launched with a blank screen and no sound. By changing to GE Proton and checking the "Prefer system libraries" option, the game launched and was playable without issue.
