Plyed this entire game from start to end on my switch and it works almost as good on linux
Alt+Enter sometimes didn't work. In addition, when unfullscreening for 2 seconds my screen looked like absolute ass and it also lags when started up in fullscreen
Mousepad sometimes didn't work while sprinting left
Only played one level but I know this game and that's all you really need to check If it weren't for the game having no gamepad support(also happens on windows) I could happily play this game from start to finish on Linux.
Just works
Toree 3D is a wacky retro style platformer that is surprisingly charming on the steam deck
Playing on the steam deck definitely improves the immersion experience, it's a fun couple of hours
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
I was unable to start Toree 3D (or Toree 2 and Macbat 64 for that matter) without adding "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" to the launch options.
Errors about DirectX and will not load
I tried the default settings, forcing Proton GE 7-20 and forcing Proton Experimental. All 3 options gave the same error:
"Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed"
Beat all the levels, no issue.
My controller didn't connect at first, but it worked once I switched proton versions, even once I put it back to the first version.
Ran perfectly
Game ran perfectly with the latest proton experimental build. Was even able to 100% the game with my Steam Controller.
Perfect performance exactly like Windows, but has the same issue as Windows as well.
Limit framerate to 60FPS for the fans to work properly. They still get the job done, but don't work as intended. It's a must to achieve a faster time.
Runs Flawlessly
Runs perfectly
Runs out-of-box with just one issue.
When I turn on the game it opens a black screen, just press a button and the game will appear.
