Played with Proton to potentially get around softlocking bug. Play on a gaming desktop if possible.
Game apparently can softlock on certain older CPUs, especially on laptops, regardless of OS or compatibility layer. Dev is not interested in fixing.
Native port not listed on store page. Overriding with Proton did not download any additional files, so I'm not sure if the Linux port is still supported.
Works as expected!
The steam page of this game says that it supports linux, but you can only download the Windows version
Set control type to Controller in the options manually.
Had some slight stutter in the beginning, works well otherwise.
In native, the game would start windowed and whenever the in-game camera changed it would toggle between fullscreen and windowed. Using proton fixed this.
Didn't save any settings at all.
Use proton, native is unplayable.
Native and Proton play the same, both being perfect. Same as Windows.
Only real problem the native version has is that the last achievement would not unlock until switching over to Proton. Other than this both performed the same and on par with Windows. Oh for anyone playing with VSYNC on might wanna turn it off as the game runs worse with option turned on, for both Windows and Linux.
It's native, it's free. What is not to like.
Give it a try :)
