Playes well out of box
Used default steam control layout, added control and spacebar buttons to L4 and R4 ran on low-medium and got a stable 30fps
Smaller text I.E. weapon reload times
On a Steam Deck the game is virtually unplayable
The Steam Deck Hardware is too low power and has too little RAM to run the game I believe
I don't own the game as I refunded it after it failing to run well at all
Runs no worse than on Windows (EA Teething Problems)
Escaping fullscreen lead to being unable to tab back in. If you WM/DE supports borderless fullscreen, consider trying that instead.
(Disclosure: Good friends with the devs) Game is in EA, so performance problems are shared with Windows (i.e. not a Proton problem). Running on absolute minimum settings (Potato) with V-sync enabled gave a smooth enough experience. As the game gets further along in EA towards release, I expect these problems to be solved.
Also note that my laptop reports as having only an iGPU but in fact I ran it on my Nvidia RTX4060 dGPU.
Flawless OOTB
Game is very good for it's niche, but perfomance issues and audio issues make it not recommendable for anyone not familiar with the genre.

Some users report missing music playback or problems with the tutorial videos, but for me music and tutorial videos play just fine. Looks and runs great, there don't seem to be any compatibility issues at all. However, be aware of early access issues such as crashes etc. that are currently experienced by all players irrespective of operating system.
If a mission lasts a long time (I estimate >30 minutes) the framerate will drop to 1 fps, the audio will crackle, then the game will crash.

I don'y believe the slight performance issues I have encountered have anything to do with proton/wine, as windows users, with similar specs complain of same issues.
Seems to be working fine, although it won't run videos. Might have something to do with an older Proton version or my older NVidia drivers.
Game doesn't seem to like it if you click out of the window, it causes the FPS to tank
Works perfectly with no tweaks required
Music missing in menu and during gameplay
poor antialiasing
Ultra sea settings caused significant frame drop

Music seems missing
Worked out of the box
when assuming or leaving direct control you have to hover your mouse over clickable buttons to be able to move the camera or interact with the ship again.

Cannot click and drag the mouse in 3D space to rotate the camera, but otherwise doesn't prevent gameplay
- 30 fps cap - missing music
No music is playing, neither in main menu or ingame
Capped at 30 fps
