There's some reason I needed this old version of Proton but I don't remember. It works fine though so no reason to change.

did crash on first run, after that ran smooth as butter
when operating big picture mode, maybe few drops in the begining

FPS seems to be pretty stable and was hovering over 100+ FPS on default graphics settings in both fullscreen and windowed mode.

Mods work just as well as they do on Windows including the in-game modhub menu, but for 3rd party mods they have to be put into "SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1245040/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Farming Simulator 2022/Mods." (The drive location of the SteamLibrary folder may vary depending on which drive you have the game installed.)

It runs pefectly, i didn't try multiplayer but i able to see the servers. There some bugs of shadows, BUT ITS NOT a Linux specific bug.

gamemoderun mangohud %command% WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b"
used Proton 6.3-8 to get axis with g923tf to work
Mulitplayer hosting does not work if your friend is trying to connect via Windows, however changing the ports (default at 10823) fixes it. I changed the port to 10822 (any port should work) and opened it through the firewall just to be sure.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%
Multiplayer: couldnt join sessions, when hosting others couldnt join
without the WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" i couldnt see multiplayer sessions at all

Works great with controller and keyboard. Steering wheel not so much.
Just couldn't get it to work with my Fanatec direct-drive base. Turning the wheel either direction only went right.

Some minor problems, but still enjoyable. Problems can easily be fixed by save-quit-restart-load.
DRI_PRIME=1 DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon RX 7700S (RADV NAVI33)" opentrack-launcher %command%
After several hours some textures are suddenly low resolution (my tractors dashborard)
Sometimes a mapped button on my Joystick doesn't react, later it does again.
I play with my VIKBSim Gladiator Nxt Evo and STECS as well as my Logitech G29 Wheel.
I have heavily modded the game.

Text is small but legible.
Aside from have deck set to 40fps for all games, no other changes to in-game settings.

In-game menu Settings changed:
Head/eye Tracking= off Vsync= off Framerate= 60
Game.xml setting changes: game.xml location: /(mountlocation)/(user)/(directorydrive)/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1248130/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2022 *** 1248130*** MAY BE DIFFERENT FOR YOU
*Mount location may only apply if your using a secondary drive to store your games on.

Stuttering/Lag Issue
Still a great and enjoyable game on Linux
Works perfect out of the box

Só iniciar o jogo e se divertir, parece que roda nativamente. Sem problema algum.

Puurfect!

No issues at all, runs perfectly. Even multiplayer is smooth

gamemoderun %command% -force-opengl
Alt-Tab crashes game
Did not start out of the box for me. Switching to ProtonGE and forcing OpenGL fixed it. Not tried with steering wheel on my other system yet, but on my gaming notebook, it actually works smoother than on Windows.

no problems found. mods are working fine

I had to change the renderer “DX_12” to “VULKAN” in “game.xml” in the game directory
ALT-TAB leads to a black screen
Very playable, runs even smoother than Windows Perfect mod support

Open "game.xml" and change the renderer from "DX_12" to "VULKAN"
ALT-TAB leads to a black screen
DirectX 12 will not Work, FSR and DLSS are not Supported in VULKAN Version, but very good FPS, well playeable.
Faster than Windows for sure. 3840x2160 res without issue.

Really fun, singleplayer, multiplayer and mods all work, the stuff that I tested at least.
Works better on Linux than Windows
Feels smoother than on Windows with same system!

Logitech G27 wheel only works on older proton version
No issues when you're playing with mouse/keyboard or controller. Some wheels seem to work only on specific proton versions.
I'm using headtracking with opentrack and wine output, it only works if I start tracking once the game has fully loaded/joined. If tracking is started before, loading hangs before 100%.
I haven't thoroughly tested, but it seems like linux cannot host games for windows users.
Plays great!

Runs beautifully!
Only issue is it doesn't seem to automatically detect your Steam nickname for your player in Multiplayer, so you have to manually replace its default "steamuser" to what you want each time you join. Very minor inconvenience, though.
The game starts but then just quits

Игра пригодна для запуска в среде Linux, без дополнительных изменений.
Worked great ootb. No modifications
-dx10
Wenn bei Ihnen ein Fehler nach dem start kommt mit „ Could not init 3D system. Shader Model 6.0 is requierd. Please install the Latest video drivers.

Runs perfectly
No Problems
Working OOTB

Game crash on every session. More frequent crashes occurs on higer settings. Mods don not affect in any way. (In DX-12 mode only).

If you don't need to use a wheel/pedal combo, it works pretty well out of the box! If you *do* want to use a wheel/pedal, stick to Proton 6
-force-opengl
Anything newer than Proton 6 doesn't detect/use my Logitech G27 wheel/pedal/shifter correctly, while in Proton 6 by default, the Clutch pedal doesn't detect.
Props to https://forum.giants-software.com/viewtopic.php?t=198428 for pointing this out, but I got my clutch working!
- In the game's save folder (buried in
~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/1248130/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2022
for me), look for an entry ininputDevices_v2
that matches your wheel (or, one that's close enough that you can copy as a template), and copy it to theinputDevicesManual
folder (don't edit in place - it doesn't work) - Edit the profile in
inputDevicesManual
- if you're not starting from an exact/copied entry, you'll almost certainly need to update the various USB vendor/device IDs up top to match your actual wheel - For me, the
<separateAxisMapping/>
entries at the bottom were what I needed to touch (clutch on 'Y')
Wheel doesn't work in any Proton > 6, while in Proton 6, edits to input device XMLs were required to properly map my clutch pedal.

gamemoderun %command%
The Mad Catz Saitek Heavy Eqpt. Wheel & Pedal and Side Panel Control Deck detect under Proton Experimental/8.0-4/7.0-6/GE-8-4 only the steering wheel and this was unusable. Steering was only possible to the right and this was also the case with the pedals (only one axle). On Proton 6.3-8, both controllers were correctly detected by the FS 22 and the axes were also assigned correctly.
The Report from Ω Compu brought this to my attention.

If not using proton forced experimental or GE, it's needed to force DX10.

works great
absolutely no manual tinkering necessary

Silverblue 39 + Steam Flatpak + ProtonUp-Qt Flatpak

minor freezes. Mostly stable.

slight hitching and stuttering
