Ran Out of the box.

Runs perfectly fine at standard configuration. No tinkering! Should be "Steam Verified"!
Enshrouded runs exceptionally smoothly with the standard/preconfigured settings. I have already played the game for over 50 hours on Steam Deck and have not encountered any problems. A clear recommendation! This game should definitely receive 'Steam Verified' status."

Basically it's a good experience and a great addition to your PC when you're out and about.
You need to change the Proton.
The controller is working fine and
The picture setting you need to turn all the way to lwo and,
The battery isn't particularly good, but it's good enough for me.
If you have a PC, I'd recommend Steam Deck only as a supplement.
Nothing else is too much of a problem.

Just switch to proton experimental and it's all good.

The game is great and for an early access game, it runs very well for me on my Steam Deck. The framerate is around 27-28 FPS but the game is very smooth and I have no issues with the FPS. I have spent 60+ hours playing the game and it's fine. I have experience a few frame rate drops but only a few in my 60+ hours. I highly recommend this game.

This is at the time of this review still an early access game that's been available for maybe a week. That in mind it plays very well. Frame rates I got while doing nothing to the game at all were in the mid to high 20's, but this game doesn't seem to mind the frame rate being a little low. I'd say over all it's still a pretty good experience playing on here. Though if you must have 60fps or better, it's a deal breaker.

Changing to a custom preset had the effect of sometimes disabling assigned binds when utilizing a combination of inputs. It could also be an overlap or context sensitive issue.
Open outdoor areas seem to drop FPS slightly but the game feels rather playable even sub-30s. Frametimes look smooth according to Mangohud, no sudden spikes that I've noticed so far.
Even with sub-30s the gameplay feels rather smooth and enjoyable. Frametime isn't spiking all over despite low FPS and will probably improve with a few rounds of optimization. No significant bugs/instability encountered in 4 hours of playing so far.
Only real issue I had was with the overlap of inputs when I rebound inputs and as a result had some of the binds stop working when using combinations of inputs. Even so, the ability to bind two inputs in-game is simply amazing and reduces the need to tinker with Steam Input significantly. The game also prompts for the virtual keyboard correctly so you can enter character and map names easily. Overall, the controller support feels real solid and intuitive.

Even turning everything off or using the lowest preset, doesn't seem I can get FPS above 40
I believe the game is playable even though it's at 30-35 FPS, as it's not exactly super fast paced. However I can play it comfortably at the balanced preset.
- Battery lasts about 1 hour 45 mins

Due to graphic settings being set to very low with FSR2.
If anyone has been experiencing some issues with launching, I have made a little guide that might help you when running this game in desktop mode.
I must start by saying that I could not launch the game at all when I first installed it. For those who have been running into the same issues, hopefully this will help you get into the game for the first time with better performance. Here are some of the steps I took to get this game running in desktop mode. I have an average FPS of 30. Your Performance may vary from mine but if you do have any other suggestions, I would welcome your feedback. :-)
You might be able to get away with a lot more in handheld. The game still looks great when playing on the smaller display but I must warn that the FSR2 can make the game look very blurry when playing with an external monitor. This could make some of you feel motion sick.

If you want to install CyroUtilites, you are welcome to as this is what I use for some better performance in certain games. I personally have not found this to be too useful in this game but there are some videos showing you how to do this on YouTube.
I have timestamped this video starting with performance stats then it should move to the installation process: https://youtu.be/C9EjXYZUqUs?t=96
In your Bios set VRAM to 4GB
Then once in the CryoUtilities just select > Recommended.
On a personal note. This game has fantastic controls for the handheld and even though the performance has to be set to very low graphics, I am still enjoying the game thus far. I am looking forward to hearing some of your feedback.
Apologies if this does not help all of you but hopefully it will help out most of you!
Hope this helps! :-) J

One crash while changing video options. Hasn't occurred again in 4 hrs of playing.
Turn down some video options and it is a 27-32fps game. The stock control config is good - I haven't yet felt the need to make a steam-deck specific config.

Tried the demo using various Proton versions and Proton GE, it installs but typically triggers a popup to make a Debug dump.
