Without GE Proton the game crashes before the final part of the story but after i changed to GE Proton it works perfectly

2d спрайты персонажей в деалогах не отображаются
If you can tolerate constant small artifacts then its playable aside from any multiplayer functionality.
Entities seem to visually appear/disappear randomly as the camera moves, and is fairly noticable. It is tolerable with 5.0, but higher Proton versions have this to a severe degree such that many large set pieces will be flicker in/out but are still physically present. I tested Experimental, 5.6-GE, 7.0, 5.13, GE-Proton7-49, Proton-6.21-GE which all exhibit the issue to the point it may be unplayable. I tested 1080p, 1440p, 4K, and default, lowest, and highest graphics settings with no changes.
EAC
If you just care for the main story of the game and no story from free updates/paid dlc then you can play the whole original story just fine
there seems to be an issue with every single story cutscene past the main story (the main story wasn't made with Live2D Engine Cutscenes, but all free update/DLC Stories use a Live2D Engine for animated cutscenes and all the Live2D Cutscenes refuse to play and it's just a blank screen with audio.
Don't play on Proton if you want to enjoy all the story past the main story else you'll just get blank cutscenes with no visuals just audio due to them Switching to a Live2D Engine for the first post launch free update stories/paid dlc stories.
6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
6.10-GE-1
can not play
I try the default setting of steam, and I was not able to access the gameplay section of the game, I try to had some command like "LANG=C %command%" it was still the same... I try with proton 5.0-10, 5.13-6 and 6.1-GE-2
Requires everything to be OFF and set to LOW to get normal CPU/GPU usage.
There are no lags, just high resource usage when playing on high settings.
The game doesn't start when using a system locale like Japanese (ja_JP) or any other south-east Asian language - it crashes with a Wine C++ Runtime error. To workaround this crash you need to set your launch options to "LANG=C %command%" to run the game with the C locale. There are similar crashes on Windows too related to the keyboard layout language. So definitely a problem in the game itself rather than Proton/Wine.
Maybe
The game conflict with Plasma 5.18.5. With i3 runs great.
Since it was literally just install and play with no fuss I have to imagine an average linux user will be pleased.
Randomly textures on screen will disappear, like a dock under your feet. While this does not effect the actual gameplay it can throw you off quite a bit and seems to depend on camera angles. I found it disorienting at best.
As reported by all users on all platforms the performance can vary wildly, so turning down settings helps make it tolerable but for a smooth experience you may want to wait for inevitable performance patches.
In my 25 hours of gameplay I have encountered two seemingly unrelated crashes. In both cases the game had been running for over 3 hours so it could be memory leaks, but the error message was different between them so not sure.
Networking functionality is a no-go. I am not sure if this is due to the EAC, but I tried both the 5.0.9 and GloriousEggroll's latest and neither seems to allow networking. I just get the standard message "Online functionality not yet supported." with no details but it won't let me select. I am also unable to edit my character name, the text box remains empty while indicating 6 characters, and there is no option to set an online name.
I assume EAC is what is blocking networking, but there is no part of the game that is inaccessible so far as I have seen for solo gameplay.
wine c++ runtime library error
Updating my previous report now that I've played it for over 10 hours.
I can't say how performance compares to running it on Windows, as I haven't tried. However, I can say that I've run into no noteable issues that aren't also present in other versions of the game; i.e. issues that I have had aren't related to running it via Proton.
I also haven't tried multiplayer, but since the game has EAC, I suspect there would be issues in trying to do so.
Runs out of the box. No significant issues
Haven't tried multiplayer yet.
