5.6-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Had to enable ESYNC and FSYNC to fix audio issues.
Use winecfg to enable virtual desktop emulation to match my screen's resolution, otherwise the game is surrounded by black bars.
I did not try this game under Windows, but I had to reduce graphics down to Medium to make it reasonably playable at 30 fps.
--launcher-skip
Works fine (at least for my initial two-hour session)
Worked out of the box with the latest GloriousEggroll Proton fork.
5.6-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Game was a tad slower than I expected - but still comfortably playable.
After quitting the game, Steam still thinks it's running. I have to pkill -9 steam
to fully restart the client and for it to realize the game is no longer running. However, after restarting the Steam client, and trying to re-launch the game - it will once again list it as Running, but will not launch it. Only remedy (that I found so far) is to reboot the system.
Game won't start with SteamPlay, but it works fine with native Linux client
Tried every single version of Proton to try and play it via Steam, but it crashes on launch.
HOWEVER, there is a native Linux client -- Just go to https://www.runescape.com/c=rJiQn6dJKlo/download#linux-instructions to download it for Debian/Ubuntu (it's also on the AUR for Arch-based distros). Free download, same servers.
Note: If you played only through Steam before, you may need to connect your Steam account with a Jagex account so you can login without Steam.
