Anti-Cheat implementation change borked the game
As others have said: Switching the anti-cheat implementation ruined a formerly great experience under Linux.
MANGOHUD=1 %command%
mouse sometimes stopps working for camera movement while it still works fine in the game menus. It looks to be a problem with how Wayland grabs the cursor in my multi monitor setup. Temporarily moving the game to another screen with Meta+Shift+Arrow seems to reliably fix the problem.
This report is based on the limited demo available during Steam Next Fest. Final performance may vary.
I experienced some oddities that felt like stutters at first but I recognized they were due to the default settings of the tooltip ingame. I suggest adjusting tooltip delays and similar settings to lower values to improve UI smoothness (YMMV).
Will update if performance degrades in later game stages.
runs ok early game, gameplay feels a bit wonky on Deck, might improve with further input optimization.
text is pretty small, UI scaling at 150% helps, but costs a lot of screen real estate in menus
Still crashes gpu driver upon opening the building menu.
Currently does not work with the default packages shipped by Nobara. It used to work for a brief period after launch of the Early Access client but has been borked with Nobara 39 since.
RADV_DEBUG=llvm %command%
Finally got it working on my desktop PC with AMD GPU again. Thanks to Andi for mentioning the workaround with switching the shader compiler in RADV. This was the missing puzzle piece for fixing the crashing build menu bug on my AMD system. Previous updates to Mesa alone did not work for me.
Good performance. Cutscenes can be enabled selecting "Use system libraries" from the "Other" menu in Heroic.
Cutscenes are not displayed out of the box.
Overall runs well with wine-ge-8-25.
