It can run, but progress is immediately stumped by not being able to watch trailers in-game.
I mean, I literally could not find a save feature in the game. If there is, please ignore this part of the report.
Bit of stutters here and there
So far, I've tested with GloriousEggroll's Proton versions and the official builds by Valve. If you decide to use GE, the game will freeze up randomly very early on to the point of it being impossible to progress beyond the starting area.
You cannot watch trailers. This is a problem that will prevent you from progressing in the quest line beyond the first Devolver conference room.
Runs perfectly fine on Proton 5.0-9
Unlike what others have said in the reports below, the Paradox Launcher works fine and there's no need to enable 'Safe Mode'. You don't even need to make an account. In fact, it may even be favoured to not run the game using 'Safe Mode' as there are many visual errors such as day and night cycles not working properly, fog of war not rendering in as it should, and fullscreen displays need to keep being reset.
Multiplayer exists for Prison Architect, however it was not tested here.
5.0-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.0-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Under Proton, you can expect lower performance overall, that much is to be expected. However, SFM may unnexpectedly dip in performance when you're adjusting something such as character limbs with vanilla Proton (this does not happen under Glorious Eggroll).
Crashes will occur frequently if "PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE" is not enabled.
Screen flashing will occur frequently if D9VK is enabled.
Please note that this is all under the workflow of someone who does posters, not animations. If you do intend to render videos, the screen flashing will absolutely prove challenging to work with and will need the modification mentioned above.
