Basically as good as native (modulo level transitions).
The game is installed on an HDD, so slowdowns when it is loading stuff is probably to be expected, but it was ever so slightly more prominent than on windows, I think. Only really an issue just after entering a level.
Sometimes softlocks with a black screen on level entry or exit (presumably when loading the associated cutscene), but all progress gets saved, so I can just close the game and restart it.
No complaints
I didn't notice any differences from when I played it on windows. No tinkering needed.
The experience was probably the same as it would have been on windows.
The game crashed once at startup, displaying the standard unity crash screen. Probably not proton-related.
