NET Framework
I tried different Proton, GE-Proton. Ended up with Experimental. I needed to install .NET Framework. I tried different .net via Protontricks. One of them worked.
I did not tinker. I use ProtonUp-Qt and GE-Proton. I only switch to normal Proton or something else if the game doesn't work on GE. Only played for 53 minutes. I used K&M + Stadie controller, both worked great.
It works.
Tried it for a few minutes. Bought it for my kids.
I use Proton-GE as default via the ProtonUp-Qt App. No thinkering needed.
I could register an account. The game just closed when I launched it.
Tried Proton Hot Fix, Experimental, Proton 7, 8, GE....
Of course this game would work on Linux. It's made by a Linux guy.
I use a Stadia controller. Probably not supported. Have not tried with the XBOX controller. In menues it jumps two steps. The rumble motor is on all the time during the game.
Buy it and support the devoloper.
Fun game for kid. I used to play it with my kids on our Windows PC's. Work great on Linux too.
Installed it. Launched the game. Played one round...
Not much tinkering. I just installed it through the Heroic Games Launcher, launched the game and waited for some small files to install and played.
I think the game looked awesome; high setting at 1080p 75FPS, V-sync ON.
On this machine I had zero problems. Just needed to change to propriatary nvidia drivers. I runs very well on this weak machine with Ryzen 3 and a GTX 1650 from an HP prebuilt. The CPU is OC with 450MHz. Had little to no issues, but with my other PC(Garuda Xfce) with Intel Core i5 8400 and AMD RX580 8GB I have issues; Blank screen at first and then the controller stopped working but I could game with keyboard.
Have not tried MP yet. But single player work just fine.
Game restarted when I changed video settings. I tried this on a Ryzen 5 4600G. I changed it to 720p and low.
I got 36-46FPS with R5 4600G on low settings and 720p. It looks good to me, mainly because I have been playing old games on my Batocera PC for the last two weeks. No sound issues either. The 4600G will do better in a PC that works. Mine have issues, only one RAM slot works and it's a HP prebuilt thing. No OC. No RAM OC.
Single player works great. Don't know about MP.
This is the third attempt on this PC. First with Garuda, second time with Ubuntu MATE 20.01 and now with Ubuntu MATE 21.10 Works great. No issues yet. Started the game were I left of yesterday. 1080p, high settings, V-sync ON. 60 FPS, dips down to 56-58 sometimes. No issues with sound. Runs in fullscreen.
Wine-GE-Latest
I downloaded it, installed it with Wine version Wine-GE-Latest. I played the practise map. I tried to play online but the servers I tried was full. I was able to get into a lobby with fewer people but I did not wait long enought for it to fill up with players. It seems to work. It's free on Epic from January 2. to the 9th. 2025
Looked promesing but when the game started Wayland crashed...
I could choose my character but it wasn't 100%. No image on the right side, so I couldn't see my character. The text/button choices and sound was on when the game started but the screen was black. After the intro the screen started to flicker and Wayland crashed. Will update if I get it to work.
First time trying out a Monster Hunter game. This game is too demanding for my PC, IMO. Looks and plays okey for a beta.
I got the Rue Valley - Alpha Playtest(EPIC) from Humble Choice. Just checked if the game started and worked.
I did choose the exe file manually in Heroic. Wouldn't start at first. This happens occasionally with Epic games on Heroic GL.
I tried different dxvk.conf variants but the last submitted worked for me. Added a dxvk.conf file on my library path /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/STAR WARS Battlefront/ with the following for an AMD RX550: dxgi.customVendorId = 1c06 I have RX580 with the latest drivers and could not launch the game without this config file.
I'm not a MP gamer, but tried it out and was killed immediately:-/
Works like a native game. Didn't notice that this was a Windows game at all.
I tried with the recommended Proton 8 and GE Proton on Nobara-39. I also tried it on my Steam Deck OLED, 7W-TDP@60FPS for the small amount of time I tried it on the SD.
Works great on Deck
Tried it my SD OLED. I got stable 60FPS on about 7W TDP. Works like a native Linux game, did not notice that this is a Windows game at all.
It works.
Went through some of the tutorial. Bought it for my kids. Looks good.
It worked very well after the server issues was fixed.
Because of my hardware I only got about 40FPS on medium settings. No issues starting and playing the game. For me and my hardware 40min. was enough, I rather grind in Minecraft than games like this :-D I used standard Proton and no launch options.
Runs like native. Stock Steam & Proton on Nobara-39.
Tried on Nobara-39, SteamDeck OLED, Bazzite and ChimeraOS
Unravel is a cozy little puzzle-platformer. Swedish devs. Too bad it isn't a indie game. You need to go through the EA BS at startup.
On Nobara OS the game installed and started right up after going through the EA BS... But, on my SD OLED I only got sound and a black screen on startup after the EA logo. I switched to Desktop mode and started the game, I let the EA BS run and started the game. Went back to Game mode and it works just fine. This was my first EA game on the deck. Just got it and haven't done anything to it except installing EmuDeck.
Wine-GE-Latest
Worked out of the box. Didn't try Proton, only Wine-GE-Latest.
