Good for solo play, but multiplayer is hit or miss
Game crashing when trying to join or create a multiplayer session
When going to start a multiplayer session through a steam invite from a friend, the game will just crash. The same happens if you attempt to create the session yourself.
On any given update, multiplayer may work or it may not. There may be some tweaks or things to try to get it working, however, I was unable to do so. The game works great single player and I had no issues with that at all.
There are times where some graphical issues will show up from time to time, but it's minimal and you won't notice it too often.
Loading times are a bit slower than I'm used to on Windows (when I started playing this game). This includes fast travel. I will also attribute some of this to the fact that I have the game installed on an HDD rather than an SSD (it was on an HDD with the same speed on windows) so YMMV.
There is a bug in the settings where if I set the FPS cap, it will take that number and cut it in half (60FPS limits to 30 FPS, 30FPS limits to 15FPS). It doesn't matter if you are playing in windowed or full screen mode. I noticed this issue only existed when you have VSync turned on. It works as inteded without VSync.

I started a new character to be able to give the game time to crash as there were several reports of issues around the 1-2 hour mark as well. I experienced no crashing and the game ran smoothly over all.
There is some serious lag going into towns. This though could just be a NW optimization in general as my friends who were on Windows also experienced this issue.
- Install & Run proton tricks from the AUR
- Select Payday 3 from the list of games
- Select the default wine prefix
- Select Install and windows dll or component
- Select vcrun2022
NOTE you may get an alert saying SHA256 Mismatch, I believe this is due to needing a Winetricks update. I personally just installed with the mismatch, however, this IS NOT something you should do as it could be insecure.

BETA TEST ISSUE ADDRESSED BY DEV Matchmaking is just very broken in beta in general. Should be fixed upon release.
Matchmaking is very iffy on if you can join a party or not. This should be fixed after the beta.
Getting it running during the beta requires some mild tinkering, but it is playable. There are some issue with the beta in general, but those are experienced regardless of platform.
