Just pops up a window that says wine-default
Tried a bunch of things to attempt to run, including using the game troubleshooting FAQ, no luck. Just ran it in a windows VM and works there.
The launch parameters are picky and if you have gamemode (recommended) copy all the parameters.
PROTON_USE_EAC_LINUX=1 gamemoderun %command%
make sure to put dx11 unless you have a capable card to run it. I was only running 40-30fps. After resetting with dx11, it runs very smoothly and with FSR 1.0 backing it, it was native as windows.
voice chat worked, joined with crossplay, etc.
I think this is enjoyable and ran well once I bumped it up to 144fps which is the same hz as my display.
Proton-6.9-GE-2
Yeah, simply downloading the game and playing it is enough. It also have frame cap settings which is really a big deal for me.
gamemode %command%
Yeah seriously. Just got the game, started it up, no problem. had to fix graphic settings because it was all set to epic which my gpu couldn't do but yeah.
Multiplayer works like natively, game runs good with medium settings with a 6600, I lowered the fps cap to 90 because I don't think any more is necessary with a 144hz panel. I am also running duel monitor set up so no problems with alt-tabbing and whatever.
When using distro Opensuse Tumbleweed 20210621 it doesn't want to open
Okay so for this one you have to use Proton-6.10-GE-1(or latest) Released to get it working, and if you want to try to use wine steam then thats also (a really buggy) option too, but most preferably Proton GE. Maybe I am missing a driver that could make this run? Maybe its the fact that this is a directx9 game? Until I can find a guide, this only works for compatibility proton.
using latest proton, started up, but unfortunately only see this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2gxuIfNeTTE/hqdefault.jpg
Oh yeah, got it working using this: Yeah, and the only way I got it working was using Eggroll: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Proton-6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.16-GE-1 really does the trick and fixed all the previous problems from before.
Just restart pulseaudio using "pulseaudio -k" and reboot the game after a few times and should be working. I do this all the time to fix my issues
So far, I've ran Monster hunter world which is a decently demanding game. Pretty good and didn't had much trouble at all.
Proton-6.9-GE-1
might be me because I haven't configured mouse for Kubuntu since this is a free install by the time I wrote this. Whenever I try to hover over start buttons or going to a quest, the cursor over shot. Other then that, when going into the gameplay it feels smooth and responsive.
When starting the game, frame drops happen but after playing 15 minutes of the game, it stopped frame dropping and ran like butter. I put it down as a stability issue because it probably has to do with many models in the start area of Ice-Borne.
Plays exactly how'd you play on Win11
pretty much same performance and everything. Would give it ago since it's tetris and I recommend tetris in general.
Mouse makes game stutter. soz mouse players (initial presentation after running the proton fork by GE, something may change)
Proton-6.14-GE-2
just do Pulseaudio -k and reboot tetris effect
had problems and needed to fix it by playing with the menu (perhaps a problem with duel monitors but I can't be sure)
When moving the mouse, experienced a lot of laggy FPS even in menu and a bit in game.
Other then issues i'ved listed already not really. Just mind the mouse
When going into multiplayer (like zone battle), I got a black screen (maybe it was loading, it literally took like 2 minutes and did nothing, which is abnormal)
I'd recommend it with a little tweaking on a few settings, and playing with them.
Like my last report, I only had to play around a little bit before it could work. What I did was put it in no v-sync, and in 1920x1080. It will mess up because its probably because of duel monitors. But, once I reboot the game, it worked perfectly.
The mouse had problems for gameplay. Whenever you use your mouse, it simply lags the game for no reason but if you are a only-keyboard player then this shouldn't be a problem at all.
