general quirkiness with windowing. It would sometimes launch and look blurry but be fixed by setting it to fullscreen and starting (although the fullscreen part may have been a coincidence? hard telling). It didn't properly detect the size of my primary monitor.
The game used to be fine even in a tiling window manager with wayland but I had some issues when it lost focus. I tried using gamescope but wasn't able to click in the game. Eventually it just seemed to work and I was able to use the other screen without breaking it.
I only played for one round of deatchmatch as of writing this
FPS was locked to 25 until I changed the settings to be fullscreen. Able to hit 100 consistently with this change
I don't know if this makes a difference, but I launched with 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d %command%'. I attempted to use the GloriousEggroll version of proton, but this made the game entirely unplayable
Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Use winecfg and enable the virtual desktop. When starting the game you will have to make the window smaller before maximizing it again. On your first launch it may not work at all but subsequent launches the game should be smart enough to recognize and fix it.
Black picture when fullscreen
Game screen would go black and crash when losing focus
Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Use winecfg on the game's prefix and enable the virtual desktop setting
Fullscreen leaves a black screen and the window losing focus causes the game to crash. This is mostly avoided by using the virtual desktop option
The game window fails to display graphics correctly depending on how it is launched in a multi-monitor setup. I use bspwm and will commonly have Steam on my secondary monitor and move my mouse to the other for the game (actually, it launches on the primary monitor even with my cursor over steam).
What I have to do to make the game launch properly is move steam over to my primary monitor and launch the game like that. It then works flawlessly.
