Graphics are horribly bugged with new renderer as of 0.8.3
Game ran flawlesly before the new renderer that came with 0.8.3, now the game is covered in artifacts and everything flashes in extremely bright rainbow colors that warrant an epilepsy warning and make the game unplayable. Things render completely normally maybe 1/10 reboots. Opting into the beta branch didn't change anything.
The multiplayer lobby systems are quite bad as of 03/28/2023, but that has nothing to do with linux.
When I launched the game a directx error occured, and I couldn't get the game to launch. I think the version of mesa that Mint ships with is outdated. Using the kisak-mesa PPA at https://launchpad.net/~kisak/+archive/ubuntu/kisak-mesa fixes the issue. The game works like native after this.
Doesn't work at all
It seems to be an issue with the game only running in dx11. I tried forcing dx9, turning off esync, and trying several different proton versions but I had no luck. It would crash upon hitting play every time. One could probably roll the version back to when Kenshi used dx9 and get it to work, but it would be horribly outdated and buggy
Crashes on start normally, Infinite loading screen with a tweak
Like slap city, this game uses Winusb, which is incompatible with proton. Unlike slap city, -disable-native-gc doesn't disable it. The game gets to the first frame of the loading screen and then crashes.
I went into the files and found a file called LibUsbDotNet.dll. Removing this file fixes the crashing, but the loading screen loops infinitely. I tried putting in a dummy dll file with the same name but it still looped.
Runs perfectly with linked patch.
