EAC cannot be instantiated. Can't load into the game at all because EAC is borked...
Tried on Proton 5.13-1 and Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST and was unable to get it to load in and play anything. Disappointed with EAC...I have another game EAC makes unplayable on my Arch Linux install.
Yes - but only for singleplayer. Ever since R* implemented the Anti-Cheat online is ruined for us on Linux distros. Sad...

Until R* lets us play this in Linux multiplayer I have uninstalled the gane. GTA Online was the only mode I used these days. It is too bad they did this. Ruined the game for me at least in Linux. If I really want to play I'd have to fire up my gaming laptop running Windows 11 and play the game from my desktop using Steam Play or just play the game on lpatop itself.
When I ran Proton 7.3 GE-1 it would do audio crackling during intro video. Otherwise audio has been fine.
I had tried Proton Experimental, Stable Proton, and Proton GE 7.3-GE-1. Intro video was fine on all but GE where it would have audio crackling. Once I actually load into a game server my FPS drops from 60 to 1-2FPS. Terrible. I have a eVGA GeForce 980 Ti. Seems that if I had an AMD card (wanted one but like many I've had to hold off for years to update graphics card due to the crazy prices/inflation :(...)
Very laggy when loading into game. 1-2FPS... After tweaking to windowed mode and lowest settings I can get maybe 8FPS if I'm lucky but still unplayable.
1-2FPS when online in multiplayer. Extremely laggy. If I had a AMD card I probably would have a better experience.
I am running Arch Linux with Plasma desktop. I have run the latest updates as well. There may be more I can do. I have a feeling I'll have to change to an AMD card which I wanted to try again anyway. But with the crazy prices of graphics cards I'm stuck with what I have unless I want to spent a good amount of cash on a overpriced card... :(... I want to try playing this game with friends but I cannot and refuse to boot Windows to play this. Got the game as a gift.
Frustrated but I will just return the game most likely.
Singleplayer only. EAC kicks in multiplayer
Well yes if you do singleplayer stuff but as soon as you are online EAC kicks you around 10-15 seconds and really is annoying when you want to play with you friends. Forces you to reboot and run it in Windows. Real shame :(. Hate booting to Windows love my Arch Linux.
