Loading screens missing textures
Game crashes after a couple of minutes
'If you can' DO not play this on a traditional HDD, it is one of the first games where the HDD stutter/slowness becomes VERY visible (even on a non high refresh rate monitor)
--launcher-skip -dx12
Like azk124 says, you have to use : --launcher-skip -dx12
Not sure about stability issues yet, haven't played for too long yet in this new patch....
Very annoying DRM, but ok everyone knows this. However, game key not retrievable because 'wine' crashes the key retrieval process.....
Tried all kinds of tinkering, too many to count, none of them work.
Game does not work due to : not being able to activate with key. (wine crashes)
Update: I did the same 'fix' as Spiderbob (for some reason I overlooked his solution the first time) and I 'seem' to have fixed the game THIS time around.
Find the "Game.prefs" below: /home//.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/202710/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Gas Powered Games/Demigod)
open this "Game.pref" with a text editor. I changed primary_adapter line to primary_adapter = '2560,1600,165' which is the native resolution for my laptop monitor and everything seems to work fine now.
The game should now start and work.
If for some reason you can't find the folder "Demigod" with it's file "Game.prefs", you have to run the game 1 time (even though the game will not be playable at this time).
Seems borked.
Tried multiple proton versions + steamtinker, regardless the game does not even start.
Occasionally freezes when using 'Flashback' to correct a mistake you made in a lap.
Game used to work, now freezes when you get a loading screen before the race. Tried 8.0.3 and Experimental, both same issue.
For me the game crashed when trying to start it, but when I switched to Proton Experimental, everything was flawless!
As mentioned before, you have to use these fixes, they are from another user in a forum thread.
- Open the game folder (right click on the game, properties -> installed files -> browse)
- Navigate to Packs/Maps folder.
- Create some folder, name it as you like - i.e. bak or temp
- Find all the files with names starting with "MainMenu_"
- Move all those files to the folder you created in step 3.
- Launch the game. Game should launch to the menu but instead of the background with your mercs, it will be black.
- Open Options -> Video and change Reflections to anything other than Medium or High. Off, Low and Ultra are ok. Apply the change. Don't try to play yet. You do not have some necessary files.
- Close the game.
- Restore the "MainMenu_" files to their previous location.
- Restart the game.
- Game should now go to the main menu, background with mercs should be there.
Not sure, it runs 'ok' to some degree with very heavy hardware (which should not be needed).
Game freezes when trying to switch between fullscreen and any other window setting.
The game runs terrible. (rumours are all over the place that there is a hidden crypto miner running in the background and THAT 'is the reason why'.)
It would be nice if someone can guarantee that there is no hidden malware in this game....
Enable Steam Overlay in Global settings + Disable steam overlay for the game itself
I did the same as -> Slnecnik in the post below, only difference is I did not need to switch to Proton-GE and thus used the standard Steam version.
