Audio falls out of sync during cut scenes seemingly due to any slowdown (such as shader compilation) using ACO most of the time the latency is noticeable but pretty small
Lots of textures stuck at low resolution, thankfully it's mostly during cut scenes. Depth of field effects also render in extremely low resolutions but those are seldom used. During gameplay most textures do seem resolve to the highest resolution
So long as you are comfortable applying all the fixes beforehand this game works really well
5.4-GE-3 GloriousEggroll
Use media foundation workaround. mf-installcab
For This game the AppID is 601150 eg
WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/601150/pfx/ ./install-mf-64.sh
and copy the mfplat.dll file into the game folder as well.
Use DXVK
Open dmc5config.ini and change TargetPlatform to TargetPlatform=DirectX11
Low quality textures fix
To fix low quality textures I also modded the game to remove the low quality ones. Text guide: https://pastebin.com/bVFiJ0JY Video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqMg791gcQs&feature=youtu.be
Audio in cut scenes will fall out of sync until you generate the shader cache. After running through the game once I haven't had any other problems
After each level of the bloody palace the cursor shows up and if you press enter it will toggle between windows and full screen. No big issue just strange
It's an absolute slog to get through as shader stutters ruin your combos, but it does eventually reach a good level of performance
Game seemed to always start with a black screen after enabling fullscreen. I've been playing windowed
The shader cache on this one is.. insane. I've played DMC5 for almost 200 hours and ended up with a total shader cache folder size of 360mb. This game I've played for about 20 hours, through the main campaign three times and I still haven't hit all the shaders. My cache size is up to 714mb. I swear it's like each move and each effect gets a new shader for every camera angle in every room! It's a lot. I will say that my third play through has been much more stable, but still, occasionally I will run into a room, do one move, stutter for two seconds and warp to another location. It's rough.
Starts up, only payed a few levels but seems to work find
Some of the fonts were cut off by a few pixels :/
Proton 5.13 adds the ability to unlock achievements. Game is now on par with Windows
Sometimes the game will create a .bak file that is newer than the save file. If this happens make sure to delete the .sav file leaving only the newer .bak otherwise you will lose data
Seems to work fine but the audio crackles and full screen doesn't work
Audio skips when picking up some collectables
Full sized the window but still had a border
