OpenGL was good until the screen would flicker blue frequently. Changing to DirectX and making these changes alleviate the issues:
- Terrain Quality > Medium
- Shadows Quality > Low
- Fog Quality > Low
- VFX Quality > Low
When using OpenGL, the screen will flicker blue frequently. Highly recommend using DirectX, and bumping down your settings.
Library > Tools > Proton Experimental to bleeding-edge beta channel. A recent update prevented the game from launching.
Disabled steam overlay & opted in to public-beta
For tiling wm users, if the game begins in a small window, it'll remain that size. Let it take up as much space as possible when it starts up.
Achievements aren't saving.
Once the save bug is ironed out and the beta makes it release, happy days! Until then, a degraded experience, but still fun.

Achievements were not saved, however, you can copy the data from ~/.config/Vampire_Survivors/saves to ~/.local/Vampire_Survivors/saves to restore your progress. By creating the folders, the game will also start saving progress.
Good game! Once beta hits release it'll be a great experience, but for now, it's a degraded experience.
Windowed fullscreen is the way to go, which is the default.
The game is known to be a resource hog - I have decent hardware so it was mostly okay, but I would turn lights off in-game at times to improve the FPS.
