EA Anti Cheat broke the Linux client
Their new anti-cheat client has no Linux support. EAC had it. They broke the game client with a single update.
Drag the nProtect info window at startup to consistently start the game
I have a big issue starting the game: most of the time, there is just a black screen. The game is loading forever. I can launch the game consistently by dragging the nProtect info screen at startup any amount. I have yet to get the infinte loading screen again, even with DX12 and in fullscreen (which can or were problematic).
The game window appears, but closes itself very quickly
Seems like the recent patch broke the game on Linux entirely
Mods have been broken by the recent update
Any mods changing (at least) models will cause the game to not launch. Delete the data direcotory, then verify installed files. Also update your mods.
Update 5.6.0 broke the game on Linux
TL:DR: As of update 5.6.0 and hotfix 5.6.1 the game doesn't launch anymore. While the EAC initialization is fine, the game itself no longer launches and just stops before any loading screen.
In the last two weeks THE FINALS managed to be:
- completely fine
- unplayable (but it could start)
- perfectly fine
- completely broken
- fine again
