When a cutscene starts or ends sometimes the screen is green for approximately one frame. Very minor issue
Crashes are not frequent but they are still there and can sometimes cost you up to half an hour you need to replay.
Random crashes mostly in cutscenes or when the scene changes. Game Breaking Crash near the end of the game. Prevents me from finishing the game on Linux
If you want to play this game completely a windows install is essential. Overall an OK Experience
The strange lighting that makes dark areas black and light areas white is only fixed when using Proton Experimental or Proton GE. Lighting issue still present with Proton 6.3-7!
You probably need to lower your settings a bit more than on windows
Sometimes textures were corrupted like some UI Elements
Low FPS in certain areas e.g. Todds house

Manually installing uplay on top
Tried several Proton Versions including GE and Experimental. Nothing seems to be able to get this to run on my Linux desktop while it runs perfectly fine on my Steam Deck
Im not sure. As long as it starts running it works fine.
Earlier, 2 weeks ago, I tried getting this to run for like 3 hours after it worked finde on my Steam Deck. I tried different Proton Versions, manually installing Ubisoft Connect, several commands. Nothing worked. Now I re-reinstalled it once again and I had absolutely no issue. I don't know if my computer was to fault, but it still caused so much frustration and now it just works

Game freezes after a few seconds on initial loading screen (Maybe because my kernel is older?)
If you're ready to lower your settings good experience. But anything higher than medium and you probably want to play on Windows.

Weird behaviour when tabbing out of the game. Theres two fullscreen windows open. One with the game and another one with a black screen
Expect to lower your graphic settings compared to Windows. The average fps are on the same level as on Windows, but stutter is frequent especially on high speeds. May be a geometry or texture streaming issue? Also the benchmark crashes the entire pc after about 10 seconds when on higher settings

I'm probably gonna keep this game on my "emergency" Windows install until the stuttering is resolved
For users on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS systems or similar like elementary OS: Get the mesa-kisak drivers if you cant get past the initial loading screen. Finally made the game even start.
Be sure to get the latest oibaf mesa ppa to solve the stuttering. It still stutters a bit in the city but its manageable, for now.

Infrequently crashing in Benchmark
If you're on an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS based Distro be sure to use a custom mesa driver like kisak or oibaf (oibaf recommended as it solves stuttering) if your game crashes on the initial loading screen
When rotating the camera with a middle mouse click the sensitivity is way too high. (Checked on windows for comparison, so this isn't a game issue)
