Some fullscreen issues, lagging, and the occasional crash. Comparable to Windows though
The beginning sequences had something like a screen are on the top centimeter, stopped quite quickly though. This may be related to running in windowed mode due to the initial issues getting it fullscreen.
During the initial boot it loaded on the second monitor, it wasn't alligned properly so only a quarter of the menu was visable. Setting it to windowed mode moved it back to the primary screen as fullscreen. After a couple restarts i tried again and was able to turn on the fullscreen setting without issue.
During the asteroid scene the controller was going really slow and occasionally speeding up, I plugged in a mouse to get through the scene.
During demanding scenes the game would be laggy felt like 30-40 fps at times but the fps counter was always above 140 fps
The game did crash out a couple times during my playthrough, seemed random.
Couple Hrs into campaign without issues. Needed to swap to Proton Experimental to get the game to launch.
Map screen drops to 15fps when panning fast
Needed to swap to Proton Experimental to get game to work
Only tested offline
Disable Integrated Graphics
Full screen crashed my second monitor output (close HOI4 and replug to restore). Using borderless window mode fixed that issue but defaulted to using integrated graphics locked to 10-15fps. Disabling the integrated graphics and running in borderless mode fixed the issues.
10-20 minutes of fiddling and looking up anwsers on protondb before i could get it playable
Only ran in DX9
Game refuses to boot unless in safe mode on multiple proton versions, Glorious eggroll wouldnt even prompt to boot in safe mode before crashing
Game crashes during startup, on second startup with non-GE you can select safe mode to get into the menu. DX9 has to be used to get stable gameplay
Wont work out of the box but by reverting to DX9 you can get stable gameplay
Issue with steam overlay, made the game run 5-10FPS while looking around. Once disabled it ran fine
Steam Overlay dropped it to 5 FPS under load, Disabling Fixed it
2-4hrs of troubleshooting settings takes some of the fun out when trying to play games
With big picture controller doesn't work, without it controller deadzone needs recalibrating in game
1000Hz Polling rate on Mouse causes 20-30fps drop when panning, used corsair software on windows to reduce to 500Hz fixed the issue
Ingore previous post on overlay, turned out to be a non issue
Got stuck on infinite loading Screen
Switched to GE and it worked
