with proton 4.2-3 i works, but crashes after like 1 hour of game play , I reverted to using proton 3.16-9 and the problem is gone, I think there is a regression. Hope the next new proton fixes it.
Steam overlay does not work.
Multiplayer is laggy.
To be able to playonline without the shadow of the erdtree dlc, go to your steam eldenring folder ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ELDEN RING/Game/ and creat a empty text file and name it DLC.bdt. Now lauch the game and you will be able to connect online. Remeber that this is a workarround until fromsoft fixes it. If you do have the DLC you dont have to do this to play online. Cheers.

On Ubuntu 18.04 LTS works but it crashes randomly, I can play it for 4 hours and no crash or 10 minutes and crash, I have to Kill the game to get back to the desktop, But I have SteamOS session under ubuntu and I works like a charm! it does not crash! I dont know why bit it does work awesome with Steamos session version, try it out.
Problem with video playback, especially the last boss fight, when you defeat it and it saves it crashes becasuse it cant not play the video, then your save file will no longer work, because you need to see the cutscene, I still waiting for a fix on this video playback problem that MHW has on video playback, after 88 hours playing the game, Im sad now :,(
Fist of all if you are usin a zen 2 procesor like the one I have 3700x ect, make sure to boot with the kernel parameter clearcpuid=514 or the game wont run, if you want the cutscene play and be able to finish the game and continue, you have to install https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install workaround, also very importan you have to have the codecs installed to be able to play mp4 other wise it wont work. ok POP_OS! 19.04 I did this : sudo apt install -y gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly gstreamer1.0-plugins-good libavcodec-extra gstreamer1.0-libav chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra libdvd-pkg
sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras
that is it enjoy.
The problem is something with the game, it happens too with windows 7 users and linux prototon/wine users
After iceborne update 1fps
After iceborne update que game defauls to only cpu usage, and it does not see the GPU, resulting in 1fps or lower on my 1060 6gb, the cpu usage goes to 100% on all cores
The game is broken waiting for fix form capcom, its not proton or wine.

inability to use the surveyor, after snapping a picture it remains stuck on a black screen. But I think some windows users are having the same problem.
To fix surveyor camera do this.
- Create a folder in your root directory named "_TempPhoto" (sudo mkdir /_TempPhoto)
2 .Give it appropriate permissions (I only tested it with full permissions, sudo chmod 700/_TempPhoto)
- chown yourusername /_TempPhoto
That is it and it will work with the surveyor on Linux

NP0 error
Im using gloriouseggroll proton , it boots but after the sega logo it gives the error NP0. I think this is the anticheat nguard.
The game runs slow, to fix it just pass this launch option and it will run as intended. PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

The leader board make the game crash, it does not work :(
use this, the no_esync is important to speed up the game and the leaderboard will work PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Works perfect, with the nvidia development drivers, even hair works works. Played with a mix of high and ultra setiings 60fps, with hairworks the fps tank to 42-45
