Worked like normal with Proton 8.0-3 for me
Haven't had an issues so far, runs just as I'd expect.
It actually runs and looks a little better than my Windows PC. Since I switching to Linux, all I had to do was use Proton 7.0-6 (may vary)
I've simply went and changed the version of Proton. I was only able to run the game so far with Proton 7.0-6
The game is still early access so performance was a little more stable on Linux for me. In Windows I have really bad stuttering when lots of bugs on screen(fps drops included). On Linux Mint Proton 7.0-6 I have fps drops but no stuttering (so far). For some reason the game actually looks better too. Both systems can max graphics settings, so idk why it looks better.
Needed to adjust a generic file found in most Linux Distros, called max_map_count
sometimes the default vm.max_map_count setting is too low. Use your Linux terminal to check and adjust this conf file. cat /proc/sys/vm/max_map_count (this command will let you see what it is) sudo sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=2147483642 (this command changes it, this number is what the default value is on steamdeck) For a permanent change you can edit the "/etc/sysctl.conf" file, add "vm.max_map_count=2147483642" to the bottom and run: sudo sysctl -p If you don't change it permanent with the command above, you'll have to adjust this every time, or make a script to run the second command when the system starts up. Without this file adjustment you'll find that this game crashes about every 15-20mins.
the sysctl.conf file in the /etc folder on most linux systems
Recent update bricked the game basically, unplayable
drops to 30 fps after the latest update, but it does run. No crashes, just bad fps. Nothing I do seems to help.
I've been using proton Hotfix or Experimental, but I have gotten this game to run out of box... sometimes.
