Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition
As soon as a mission started, it would instantly freeze and crash
Tinker Steps:Switch to experimental
Installs:Yes
Opens:Yes
Starts Play:No
Apparently this is due to the nvidia 560 or later drivers, no matter what settings I change (DLSS or no DLSS, 120 fps, 60 fps), or proton version I use (7.0, GE, Experimental, ...). It would still crash.
IT WORKS IF:
- I revert to the nvidia 550 drivers (you can get every component of the 550 drivers in the arch linux archives, and add them to the
IgnorePkg
in/etc/pacman.conf
) - Use the LTS kernel
- Use proton experimental
I've had a ton of issues in many different games since ugrading nvidia drivers to 560, so I'm gonna stay on 550, and maybe check out 570 when it comes out

Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: GE-Proton9-18, Set launch options, protontricks
gamemoderun PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
You need to install vcrun2022 with protontricks. for some reason Microsoft Visual C++ is missing after a clean install and the game doesn't launch without it.
at first, the game wouldn't even attempt to launch, I had to go to steam settings and clear download cache, afterwards i got the Visual C++ error
This is the command I used for protontricks: protontricks 1778820 --gui
