The game throws an error that it misses .NET 2.0
If you try to avoid it with other Proton builds / changing launch options manually it non reproducible starts the launcher sometimes (sometimes not, even if there was no change). Launching the game leads to other error messages and the game crashing
If problems are solved and you ignore the faulty error it just works and runs with high FPS
There is an error message about an outdated graphics driver, which apparently is a known bug and can be ignored. I simply left the parameter as it worked this way
The game starts but I could see only a small border of the screen, due to resolution issues. The fix is editing ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Dawn of Magic II/tbm.ini and change the number at the end of "setf ~r_screen_resolution" - FullHD is 17 and WQHD is 21
Fixed with editing ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Dawn of Magic II/tbm.ini
Resolution problem - game starts but only part of it is visible
There are a few reports that this also happens on other OS, so maybe more a general game bug, but I can't test
Either black screen with gold pointer or loading screen and hang
Tried several versions of Proton and Proton GE, the game always crashes. Using PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% avoids the crash, but the game hangs either on the initial loading screen or just shows the pointer and hangs there.
Terminates after Splash Screen
As the current version on Steam includes the MultiPlayer patch, I guess this is maybe due to an AntiCheat running wild. Tried also with several versions of Proton GE and switching start paramenters (USE WIND3D, NO ESYNC) to no avail
Flawless, as expected from a 10 year old game, limited to 30fps. Just needed to revert to an older Proton version to start
Had to revert to Proton 3.16-9 - None of the Proton 4.xx variants worked
