c="%command%";sh -c "${c::-17}Content Manager Safe.exe'" #launch content manager
initially the game has low FPS if using CSP
MAKE SURE TO LAUNCH STEAM FROM THE TERMINAL DURING FIRST SETUP, THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT once Steam is launched from the terminal, if a prefix exists, make sure to delete it. next, select GE-Proton 8-13 (haven't tested on newer versions yet) from the properties, and then launch. keep an eye on the terminal. eventually it'll bring up a winecfg prompt, and here, check the terminal for a windows version (i.e. "executing w_call_winxp"), and set the windows version in winecfg accordingly. this will happen a few times. then, it'll go through the installer for vcrun2022. just go through the install as normal, and after a while, if all goes correctly, you should be greeted by a lovely rundll32 error. cancel out, and wait a while (really, a long while). eventually, the game should launch! use the cli switch provided to use content manager after following the tutorial (up til step 4) for it here
install battlenet from lutris, then install vcrun2022
and dotnet48
from winetricks, from winecfg change the OS version to windows 11
go to graphics
change allow the window manager to control the windows
to false
to fix keyboard inputs not working, and then hopefully enjoy
keyboard issues arose, fix already mentioned
YOU WILL GET BANNED FOR PLAYING THE GAME. DONT INSTALL THE GAME LEGITIMATELY.
vcrun2022, dotnet48, changing window controls in wingecfg
YOUR ACCOUNT WILL GET BANNED FOR LAUNCHING THRU WINE/PROTON. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
As long as the vulkan driver is defined properly in the launch options, anyone should be able to play it really well.
vk_radv %command%
game would have insane issues running, 5 fps in the menu and constant crashes, this was fixed by defining the vulkan driver to use. amd's official driver (vulkan-amdgpu-pro) ran poorly, but radv ran just fine.
in order to define the vulkan driver first install amd-vulkan-prefixes
and then add the desired driver prefix to the launch options (vk_radv
for radv, and vk_pro
for amd's drivers)
yeah, game works out of the box with bleeding edge experimental. seems dx12 now works though i've only tested that with gamescope.
gamescope -b -f -r 120 -w 1920 -h 1080 --rt -- mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_LOG=1 RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command%
Multiplayer works fine. No issues found. However, initial shader compilation may crash the desktop session (should only happen once)
The game runs fine out of the box, and bleeding edge proton experimental seems to have fixed dx12 allowing for significant performance improvements on higher resolution scales (going 20 fps in menu with dx11 to over 80). your mileage may vary with dx12, as i have only tested it on bleeding edge with gamescope
