In order to run the game without a DX11 crash at startup, you will need to use the experimental version of Proton. To prevent the game from locking up at startup, you will need to add -skipintro
to the launch options. To prevent the game from attempting (and failing) to connect to the Blood Dragon servers, you will need to add -offline
in the launch options.
Previous versions of Proton and Wine seemed to have problems with accepting keyboard output. As of (at least) Proton 4.2-5, there seems to be no more problems running the game out-of-the-box.
Out-of-the-box, the game will crash after the loading screen. However, disabling Esync will resolve the issue, and the game will start without problems. However, performance-wise, there are still issues, as the graphics and responsiveness are both slow, even if the quality is dropped all the way down.
If you don't use Wine D3d11, then some items will not be visible, such as the menu headings in the main screen, and the purchasable equipment in the store page.
The game does not start; after a moment, the status goes from "Running" to "Ready to play." Esync and both D3d11 options had no effect.
The game runs out-of-the-box with no issues. Tested as far as the second part of the first dungeon, beyond which I could go no further (not a technical issue, I just suck).
