Runs perfectly fine, can adjust performance aggresively, remains perfectly playable

- Manual GPU Clock Control: Yes, GPU Clock Frequency: 200
- Scaling Filter: FSR, FSR Sharpness 5
Touch screen sensitivity seems to be a bit gammy unless the Steam Deck is plugged into the charger.

Initial EULA type thing was small text - but who reads those anyway?
And some main menu text is small, some may struggle to read it without zoom function.
It's a dead Early Access Game multiplayer game with no servers.
"At the request of the publisher, ACE - Arena: Cyber Evolution is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search."
You can play the tutotial - It's about 5-10 minutes. The concept of playing this game against others is fun, I'm sure if the developer re-published it on steam with servers, people including myself would be interested in playing it.
Gets stuck on the Steam Logo launching screen - plays game intro cutscene audio in background
I've tried different proton versions:
- Experimental
- Proton 5.0-10
- GE-Proton7-29
The game takes a while on the "Starting launch..." Screen, goes to the Steam Logo launching screen, displays the Triumpth Studios logo for a brief second, before showing the Steam Logo launching screen again while the intro cutscenes play and you can hear the cutscene audio.
Works great - just as I would expect it to run, probably would never have tried this game without using a Steam Deck.
Configured the Controller settings for Steam Deck and then bound the in-game controls for keyboard as appropriate:

It's a pond simulator with 5 minutes of gameplay, otherwise - it functions as one would expect.
Played for two hours so far, and works as one would expect
Used per-game profile to get more battery life:

- Half Rate Shading: Yes
- TDP Limit: Yes
- Watts: 4
- Manual GPU Clock Control: Yes

Runs well, it's basically a mobile game, so the Steam Deck touch screen is a good size
Has a graphics selection on start-up, I chose:
- Resolution 1152 x 768
- Graphics Quality: Fastest
Used per-game profile to get more battery life:

Completed the two tutorial missions on Steam Deck, works great - lots of potential for Hotkeys
Configuration I've got so far:
Button | Behaviour | Why | |
---|---|---|---|
L4 | = | "Ctrl" | Ctrl + R for Recruit |
L5 | = | "Alt" | Alt + R for Recall |
R4 | = | "Shift" | Speed up animation speed |
Y | = | "R" | Ctrl + R for Recruit, Alt + R for Recall |
DP Up | = | "+" | Zoom in |
DP Down | = | "-" | Zoom out |
View / Select | = | "S" | Ctrl + S quicksave |
Used per-game profile to get more battery life:
- Framerate Limit: 10 FPS, Refresh Rate: 40
- Half Rate Shading: Yes
- TDP Limit: Yes, Watts: 3
- Manual GPU Clock Control: Yes, GPU Clock Frequency: 200
- Scaling Filter: Linear
I imagine it's easier to use all of the hotkeys on PC, but the ones I needed most often during the tutorial were certainly easy enough to create.
Without doing anything, it fails to run
Renaming Bannerlord.exe and Bannerlord_BE.exe respectively to ManagedStarter.exe and ManagedStarter_BE.exe opens the single player/multiplayer and news/mods menu up.
Then when clicking play, it fails to get any further, and on Steam the dreaded green "Play" makes itself visible again.
I prefer playing this game on the steam deck instead of the PC now.
Used per-game profile to get more battery life, as game is not exactly dependant on fast reactions, I found these settings worked well, solid 20 FPS: Framerate Limit: 20 FPS Refresh Rate: 40 Half Rate Shading: Yes TDP Limit: Yes Watts: 4 Manual GPU Clock Control: Yes GPU Clock Frequency: 800 Scaling Filter: Linear
Slightly slower to connect to games than my PC, negligibly so, not too inconvenient.
