It's a fun metroidvania, runs well
Changed refresh rate to 40hz.
No cloud saves
I'm disappointed that there appear to be no cloud saves, since I have a relatively far along playthrough on PC. But the game runs well.
My second favorite game, runs really well on Deck
Lowered TDP to 10 (could probably go lower), changed refresh rate to 40hz.
This took a bit of getting used to because I'm not a huge fan of the Deck's d-pad, but the game runs great without any tinkering.
Runs pretty well
After some playing around, I found that medium graphical settings and a 30fps cap works reasonably well. I wasn't able to get a consistent 40fps even after setting everything to low. The gyro takes some getting used to.
Runs great out-of-the-box at 40fps
Changed the refresh rate to 40fps.
Some of the text was quite small and blurry.
Gamepad controls take some getting used to (particularly the back grip buttons), but with some practice it works reasonably well. Using the right trackpad for looking around is pretty sweet.
Runs reasonably well
I kept this pretty much as-is except that I set the FPS cap at 30. I suspect I could get 40 with some tinkering, but I'm not a huge fan of FSR 1.0 and FSR 2.0 didn't really improve performance very much.
Game runs great, missing cloud saves
Changed the refresh rate to 40hz.
I have about five hours on the PC, and I was hoping to take this on the go. Unfortunately, there are no cloud saves, so I'm out of luck. I'd still recommend it here if you plan to play solely on the Deck.
Changed refresh rate to 40hz.
Unless you force the game to launch via Proton in the compatibility options, you won't have cross-platform cloud saves.
Everything works out of the box without issue, except that you'll need to use the Windows version if you want to share cross-platform saves with your Windows PC.
Almost perfect
Decreased TDP to 8 and GPU clock to 800.
When waking the device up while in-game, the audio takes a few seconds to come back.
This is currently unverified, but it appears to run almost perfectly. The only issue I found is that audio takes a few seconds to come back when waking the Deck up, but that's exceedingly minor.
Works fine
Decreased TDP to 10w.
Although Steam says this game is unsupported, as far as I can tell everything works properly without any tinkering. The game does take a bit of time to start up for me (though less than the 2 minutes stated in another review).
The text is too small and kb/m controls are awkward on the deck (IMO). It can still be fun if you're patient and into CRPGs.
Changed some back buttons to quick save and quick load
TDP 11, 40fps frame cap
The text is extremely small and some of it is simply not legible. It's rarely that important, though.
The game runs well out of the box, but there's no controller support and I don't like using my thumb as a mouse, so ... yeah. Still, it's better than lacking support at all.
Works great on the Steam Deck out of the box
Reduce refresh rate and FPS limit to 40hz.
I had no trouble launching or playing this without changing any configuration options.
Runs really well at 40fps
Changed the refresh rate to 40hz.
I haven't played this extensively on the Deck, but after about a half hour I've seen hardly any dips below 40fps. I did very slightly tweak one or two of the graphical settings downward.
Reduced TDP to 8w
I own this on Epic, and launched through the Heroic Games Launcher. It works without issue, except that the resolution seems to be capped at 1280x720. I can set it to 1280x800 in the options but the actual, displayed ratio doesn't change.
Plays well enough if you dial in the settings, but performs poorly given its very basic presentation
swapped "b" and right trigger, for hollow knight-style dashing
I reduced the target frame rate to 40fps
It's often difficult to have the game play above 30fps, without making it look awful
Some pretty good art direction doesn't entirely make up for the fact that this game has a very basic presentation. Despite this, it still manages to perform rather poorly on the Deck. At "low" settings the game looks absolutely terrible, muddy and temporally unstable. But there are long stretches of the game where "standard" settings drop the game to the low 30s. I realize that's not a deal breaker for many people ... it's just disappointing that the game doesn't perform better when, by all rights, this should be at least a 60fps game.
Aside from those gripes it's fine. No crashes, text is largely readable (if small), and it controls well. Story's a little on the nose but its heart is in the right place. However, it's a bit short its current asking price ($20) -- this is not a Hollow Knight-style epic.
The game runs great despite being unsupported on Linux. It's pretty fun, too, if you're into metroidvanias.
Set the frame rate limit to 45fps (OLED model), as the game has trouble hitting a stable 60, and set the TDP to 11.
Set the FPS limit to 45 and the TDP to 11.
Works fine
Lowered TDP to 8 and GPU clock to 800.
This game is entirely playable using the mouse so it works well with the trackpad, though it's a bit more awkward than a real mouse would be. Text is clear and large enough to read.
