After moving away from my NTFS drive, I have had no issues.
Did not work properly until I moved the game off of an NTFS-partitioned drive and onto a Linux filesystem (btrfs).
Game runs fine. Biggest issue is that the docs, discord, and youtube buttons/links in the launcher do not work.
The busted help links are accessible on the games main page that can be found in the Steam store page.
Edited config for default monitor in multi-monitoru setup
Rare crackling that is not consisten (e.g., the same sound played a few seconds part crackled the first time but not the second)
I don't think my required tinkering was a result of trying to run on Proton so much as how my multi-monitor setup is configured.
After first launch attempt, I ran protontricks --no-background-wineserver 1531540 dotnet472
Crashed the first time I tried to load a new game once I did the .NET setup
I followed these steps to get the game running: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1531540/discussions/3/5561388294332782864/ However, I had to switch to the newest Proton afterward and the game crashed the first time I tried to load into a new game (menus all worked fine). So far, no crashes after first crash.
Main menu background video does not play properly
On Manjaro, I had to install lib32-openal before the game would launch. As others have mentioned, I had to force my monitor to run at 60Hz to deal with the movement issue after combat.
