9/10 tries of run skirmish cause crash and immediate back to desktop without any 'send error log to relic' popup window, so game is unplayable in my opinion. A lot of games runs great with Proton on my PC, however not this one.
On highest settings I get around 80% of native Windows performance (it's 50-60 FPS in most demanded urban scenes and more at outdoor, so game is really fluid).
Few days ago I finished ELEX (main story and a lot of side quests, maybe even all) playing just on Linux. It took to me 80+ hours, but I spent a lot of time on map exploring. It's 2nd time when I finished this game, at 1st time I played on Windows 10 and my experiences from playing on both platforms are the same. Performance is really good, just slightly lower (few percents) than on Windows 10. It's great that I don't have to run Windows 10 anymore for playing my favourites games thanks to Proton.
I tested whole campaign and side quests. With AMDVLK 2019.Q2.4 driver I have the same performance on Ubuntu 19.04 like on Windows 10 (I compared fps on both systems in few places, settings: 1920x1080 + ultra). With RADV driver a performance is 10% worse.
I couldn't register an account (it's not required for play a game), but all other things worked fine so far.
I played main campaign 2 times and all works fine. With ultra settings a performance is very good.
Except a dialog box at the game startup (info about missing languages), all other things worked without problems so far.
Game doesn't run. I see dialog box at start that game requires Radeon Drivers 15.7, but UNKNOWN version was detected.
It works like on Windows 10 (maybe just few % slower, but I didn't run repetitive benchmarks)
I didn't test D3D12 mode, just D3D11, because as I remember D3D12 on Windows was slower than D3D11.
Launcher is black, so I just renamed StrangeBrigade_Vulkan.exe to StrangeBrigade.exe in bin folder. After that a game runs without problems (I hadn't to use any other warkarounds). I played few hours in co-op and all worked really great. I didn't notice any issues. Performance was great on ultra settings.
BTW. I used AMDVLK v2019.Q2.1 instead on RADV, because on RADV tesselation is broken and performance much lower.
