Played the demo of the game online with friends who used Windows without any problems.
Worse than Windows, but reducing the graphic settings would yield up to 50fps which should suffice
Only when using bluetooth earphones: sometimes the Audio would stop for a second or two; afterwards the audio was often out of sync with the animations and the earphones needed to be reconnected to fix it.
Sometimes it would take a few seconds for models or textures to load
Compared to running the game on Windows, the FPS were much worse: On max settings and 1440p, Windows 10 managed using the Vulkan Version around 80FPS in the city of Baldur's Gate, while on Fedora using Vulkan, the game stays between 10 and 20 FPS. Using the DX version Windows got around 55 FPS and Fedora around 30.
While on Windows, it worked without any problems, hosting the game on Linux would often result in delayed enemy actions, invisible player characters (only for each player themselves) and desynced player positions (players reported to be somewhere else to where they were for the host and other players). From act 3 onwards, the game would also take a while to react when a client (not the host) tries to initiate a dialogue.
While the game is playable, it's still annoying that the performance even after trying a multitude of tinkering steps, plus using first steam and later lutris, would never come close to the perfomance on Windows 10. However, reading other reports and through reddit, it seems that my GPU (and the 10xx series in general) could be a special case; as it seems to profit a lot from Windows' Vulkan version but struggles with Vulkan on Linux while managing only subpar FPS using the DX version on both OS.
Regarding tinkering, I've tried a lot of proton versions and launch options while testing both Vulkan and DX versions, but in the end, I couldn't find anything that would result in a noticeable performance improvement.

Only using bluetooth earphones, the audio would regularly stop for second or two and sometimes be out of sync afterwards which could only be fixed by reconecting the earphones.
Sometimes, my character would just do stuff on his own for up to ten seconds. Often run in one direction, ignoring my inputs, sometimes, he would even change directions or jump or dash; I couldn't figure out why or how to stop this (neither pressing any buttons nor doing nothing helped, I also couldn't access the menu while that was happening). This didn't happen too often but when it did it was obviously most of the time deadly for my character.
Three times after an update, my save games were suddenly gone. This happened shortly after the DLC release, and stopped happening quickly.
The later ares of both the base game and the DLC would see a decrease in performance, including a rare game crash here and there.
On both, Windows 10 and Fedora, my computer struggled with this game, especially in the later ares of the game which might be due to bad optimization.
Using $ gamescope -f -h 720 -H 1440 -- %command%
increased performance noticeably and to a level above what I had on Windows, without making the game look worse; plus I could even increase the video settings a bit.
Worked just as well as on Windows, including multiplayer and hosting games.
Error "Proton and Wine are not allowed"
Game couldn't connect to online services, no matter what I tried.
Around 20 FPS
Just works
The game chooses the first audio device in the system's device list. If it isn't the one, you're using, you need to change it manually.
