The game recognized my gamepad but both the attack and jump button were mapped together. So its best to play this game with Mouse + Keyboard
Do know that this is still an early access game. The latest update came out on Dec 2020 and the game still needs more content to justify a purchase. Wait for a sale like the Winter steam sale or check out youtube videos for more info.

The game has the option to choose Vulkan for graphics. After choosing that and OpenAL. It was smooth sailing for me.
