As long as occasional music issues with a mission doesn't bug you, the game runs well
Music during a mission fight kinda lagged and got crackly for a sec
Works great out of the box, but if you want digtube you need the movie player. https://github.com/HoodedDeath/mf-fix
Without tinkering you won't have digtube.
Crashed In the first Franklin mission where they repo the red and white car
Game does not work at all for me on arch
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
When I switched the texture size from quarter to full. The face textures dissapeared and became a black texturless void.
low fps considering I have a 1070. Not game breakingly laggy, just noticably sluggish
The game does not run without adding in the launch option, and I believe it is the launch option that is making it sluggish.
Game worked right out of the box, no issues and save and loading games worked perfectly
Runs right out of box, however I've marked it down to gold because if you have a multiple monitor setup it has a chance of running on the secondary monitor which is annoying, yet playable.
I used the Windows portable 64bit version of openrct2 to play it to fix the various saving issues previously mentioned, game works perfectly after renaming "openrct2.exe" to RCT2.exe shift+tab steam overlay does not work as well with steam screenshots with it for some reason.
Game saving does not work, I have had a single crash, could not replicate it afterwards, according to the people here you can use the keyboard to save and load, I will try that and report back once I have.
Works fantastic on both Desktop and Steam deck with basic steam settings
Anyone that likes this type of game on windows would also love the experience on linux.
You need to use the keyboard short cut to manually open the on screen keyboard, but damn does it ever run fantastic on the steam deck!
If steam can some how trigger the on screen keyboard to open without manually trigger it the game would be even more perfect.
Installing works, loading up the loading bar works, when it reaches the end it says "Failed to start game, Retrying", then it crashes.
Crashes in normal and compatibility mode on start. Tried disable esync and using wine d3d11.
Music and voices are missing until you put the following into the games launch options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
Game runs fine, music and sound works, all-be-it a bit loud, but that is with windows also.
the HUD is not resizable
Overall the experience is fine besides my previouslty mentioned issues with vid players not working and then crashing with the launch thingy
Video Players don't work and when using the launch parameters "--enable-avpro-in-proton" it causes the game to crash. If you want to play don't put it in.
Besides the video player, the experience is fine and there were no other issues.
Don't put --enable-avpro-in-proton in your launch parameters if you want to just chill. Eventually we might get video players working, but for the time being forget about adding that in.
game visually lags quite a bit, and the audio slows down and crackles, if the fonts weren't missing it would be manageable though I suppose
occasionally music will slow down or crackle
textures missing are random on the menu screen, occasionally the exit button becomes a random picture with no text, changing menus and going back to the main screen fixes this issue.
Fonts are missing, maybe thats just me, but yeah fonts are missing in game making it impossible to make decisions on events.
Music lags, and gameplay is significantly decreased from on windows
Fonts are missing in certain areas, such as events
Ran amazing see the extra notes below.
So since my last review, I closed the game, and all the fonts are working and all the graphical slow downs and missing fonts are miraculously fixed! It ran just good as it did on my windows, if not better!
Works great out of the box, and the launcher even works for the mods
Using Proton Experimental
Runs great right out of the box, However If you have multiple monitors, it will start on your secondary monitor, but you can use Super Key+shift+(left or right) depending where your primary screen is.
