It tried to run UE4 Prerequisites, which didn't work on my setup. Figured out I need to run protontricks 1635450 -- -f vcrun2019 in order to actually load the game.
Winetricks version if you use that instead:
WINEPREFIX="/path/to/steamapps/compatdata/1635450" winetricks -f vcrun2019
Keyboard and mouse inputs aren't recognized
You can navigate through the main menu and create a new game, but you can't progress any further. The mouse sensitivity is unbelievably low and the keyboard is completely unresponsive. It's not like the game is lagging either, it's just not accepting any input.
Works well with recent updates
Previous versions had a lot of issues with controls not working, but that seems to have been resolved over the past few updates
There are a few instances where it seemed to stutter
The game will not run on any version of proton newer than 7.0. Any later version just immediately closes
Runs perfectly with no issues
The legacy beta code mentioned in another review is no longer required as the fix for older DX versions has been released into the main version.
Worked flawlessly using the Gentoo steam-overlay
I tested this using both the Gentoo steam-overlay and the Flatpak install. This is for the steam-overlay version.
Unable to run in Flatpak version of Steam
I tested this game in both the Flatpak version of Steam as well as the version of Steam installed through Gentoo's steam-overlay. The game will install and start in the Flatpak version, however the Flatpak version will only display a completely black window with the game audio playing in the background.
