Excellent singleplayer
Did this test with the latest 18.07.24 patch. Unable to join games as 'version does not match'
Works great out of the box for singleplayer but MP games does not work. 'version does not match' error. Tested with latest 17.08.24 version.
"-screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080"
Out of the box you get unusuable black screen when you start the game from the game start menu. I needed to add "-screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080" for my double monitor setup. Once done the actual game starts normally. Without it you just cannot get into the game play itself.
Works well
Default settings was slower than high settings with a RTX 2060 card. Some internal settings change and optimization may be required for a more smoother game. I was able to improve settings internally making the gameplay smooth.
Smooth and working good
Frame rates are just perfect. Silky smooth and gamepad is detected at once.
Out of the box and go
Low audio level by default. On windows version the same game has high volume so adjust accordingly.
Lovely game and works well. Sound volume is low initially. gamepad works at once. No real issues.
Works but pad may need work
Checked layout in menu. It is different to what it says. This issue is not present on Windows version. All mandatory buttons DO work but they are not where they should be. Only direct arrow buttons work on pad only. Stick is disabled. This leaves the game in a playable state but may need more pad config work if user wants to have the stick in use.
Pad stick is disabled and buttons mappings are not correct. May need more work.
Just install and go
Don't see any difference between Linux and Windows version. Works well.

Controller activation was delayed on first run. Some 30 seconds before it started to respond then it worked instantly on next launch

Works perfect as long as GPU/Nvidia drivers are in shape
Tried this when Noveau was still in use. Terrible framerates. Debian native nvidia-driver was also terrible but using latest driver from nvidia page worked perfectly after installer got me through all the important steps including noveau disabling.
Works well out of the box.
Only difference noted was that A and B button exchanged places compared to Win version. Otherwise identical experience.
