Works perfectly out-of-the-box without any issues
Both the base game and the Royal Marines DLC works perfectly out-of-the-box on Proton 5.0-9.
5.9-GE-3-ST GloriousEggroll
- Using Proton-5.9-GE-3-ST
- Install wmp11 via protontricks using the following command:
protontricks 392110 wmp11
Minor music crackling on rare occasions that usually go away after a short while.
To enable movies, launch the game with Proton-5.9-GE-3-ST and install wmp11 via protontricks via the following command:
protontricks 392110 wmp11
All movies in the game will now play properly. These include:
- Sega Logo
- Each faction intro movie
- Planet colonization movies
and more.
The above tweak also fixes the "blank/black/corrupted" menu background problem, as the game uses movies as the background of several menus in the game.
With this fix, the game is more or less perfect. I've played for hours without encountering any issues (aside from some minor music crackling, which happen very rarely and go away after a short while).

Require Proton 5.9-GE-3-ST GloriousEggroll to get video playback to work properly.
Also, to avoid the issue of the game freezing when exiting the game via 'Quit to desktop', you need to first exit to the game's main menu via 'Quit to main menu'. Then, on the main menu, select 'Quit to desktop'. The game will now close properly.
Install wmp11 via protontricks
The game crashes when changing to fullscreen.
To fix the "only black screen" problem, install wmp11 using protontricks via the following command:
protontricks 1083650 wmp11
After applying the above tweak, I was able to play through the game and viewed all chapters.
The only remaining issue is that the game crashes when switching to fullscreen.

The game seems to use the same engine as Super Naughty Maid. Therefore, the same fix for the "only black screen" problem in the first game also works here:
Install wmp11 using protontricks via the following command:
protontricks 1083650 wmp11
After applying the above tweak, I was able to play through the game and viewed all chapters.

Everything works perfectly:
- Intro movie (as well as other movies in the gallery)
- Single player (I've completed several characters arcade modes)
- Multiplayer
- Buying & viewing stuffs in the gallery

Currently, on Proton 8.0-2, the game will crash if trying to start a new campaign's scenario.
The workaround is to switch to using an older version of Proton, i.e., 7.0-6 or older.
Using Proton 7.0-6, the game (and all of its DLCs) run flawlessly.
