If the game starts with only audio and no video, or you get a missing file error, validate your game.
The game runs and performs perfectly on proton or natively on linux, but initially after installing the game through steam I would get the error seen below. Upon doing some troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that I should try to validate my game through steam, and upon doing so steam found "1549 files failed to validate and will be reaquired." So if your game either starts and only has audio with no video, or it starts and gives you that error, simply validate your game as steam seems to somehow download it without the Lost Island DLC. This will happen whether or not you buy/own the DLC as the game requires you have all of the DLC to start it.

Runs out of the box, will frequently crash if RTX is enabled, so if you want to do a full playthrough just disable rtx until a patch drops.
MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Crashes frequently with RTX Enabled
Runs at 40-50 fps usually on lowest settings with fsr3 frame gen enabled, isn't unplayable but this makes quick time events and parrying timing significantly harder than it normally is.
FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY WITH MODS Crashes with hmm aka hedgemodmanager to remedy this, I am using the bottles flatpak to use hmm to install mods, but it will usually make your game crash after the window spawns for a few seconds my fix is going into flatseal and adding this to the "other files" section so that the game can properly load the mods without crashing "/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SonicFrontiers/Mods/" this is the generic path to add if you're on steam deck but if you're on a linux pc just replace that with the name of your user and your mods should work. I also reccomend keeping hmm up to date along with the mods and codes.
