First I tried Proton GE but got problems with the videos, especially 1 task to progress the story is watching a video. I wiped my prefix and just used plain Proton (as Valve intended löl) and it just works out of the box. Maybe I should use plain Proton more often.

Just note, sometimes their Anti-Cheat breaks compatibility, BUT every time the developers fixed the issue

Textures on High result in slowdown after some time, VRAM is not cleared correctly
Newest Proton GE is neccessary on AMD GPUs. New versions of VKD3D fixes the random GPU timeouts with this game, which is included in GE-Proton9-26.
Performance feels worse than Windows, but Diesel Engine isn't performant on Windows either so it could be just an imagination
Crashes on some maps, if you have Texture Quality set to High, Medium seems to work with no problems right now.
The Windows/Proton version has an easier time installing Lua mods
After Proton-GE Updated DXVK to 2.0 you are now able to play on High textures without any crashes on all maps.
Windows/Proton Version has an easier time to use Lua-Mods
Just works out of the box
You don't need to tinker (insall vcrun2022) like during the Beta anymore
Need to unplug my Keyboard since Update v1.6.0
Plugged in Keyboard or Gamepads freezes the Game instantly since v1.6.0
